Your Monster was so much my favorite movie this year that it has instantly been added to my list of comfort movies that I rewatch all the time--so obviously, I had to draw it as one of my other comfort movies, Music Man. <3

actually I really loved your monster ….. I think as little girls we are told from a young age that we can’t be angry, that we can’t speak up for ourselves when we’ve been wronged, that we can’t be confident or take up space, and that results in us pushing so much of who we are down inside of us. that we then as women sometimes feel hollow, unsure of ourselves even, never feeling confident in feeling what we feel, in just existing as we are. and seeing all of this embodied as ‘her monster’ was umm neat. loved that

also that scene where she’s just screaming “it’s not okay” over and over…..so good….
