I realize it’s been forever since I’ve posted anything here, but I just wanted to show off my Lina in a cute dress I made recently.

I managed to get a photo of the roughly complete outfit today, though I realize you can’t see the green gems on the gloves. They are there! I finally managed to get gloves finished, the tiny fingers were an absolute nightmare and the biggest reason the project went unfinished. But now they are done. I’m not sure which outfit to do next, but leaning strongly towards the OVA outfit or one of the novel outfits.

I am very happy with how it’s coming together. There is very little to finish now, I need to finish the gloves *The charms and talismans for them are already done), and I need to attach the soles to the boots. then this outfit will be finished!

I decided to put on the other belt and just take a couple quick snapshots of it.

I actually did the leather texturing on the belt myself after accidentally ordering a smooth glossy pleather.

I really like how the belt turned out overall. Please forgive the cloyd spot on the right of the charm, it cracked while I was sewing it on and I wanted to be sure it cured properly before I paint the repaired spot.

I realize I haven’t updated in awhile, so I thought I’d post the progress I made. I had to take a hiatus from the project for a bit but it is gaining traction again.

Sorry for the bad photos, I was running out of daylight. It didn’t help as much as I thought.I plan to shorten the bra a bit. I’ve also done the the the second belt I just forgot to put it on.

The boots and the gloves are what’s up next, and then I think this outfit will be done. I’ll probably do one of the OVA or novel outfits next.

Right? Lord of Nightmares? Clearly a lady. Also I kind of love her. The idea that this fickle, omnipotent being is simultaneously the creative and destructive force behind everything and just hangs out – presumably watching Lina fuck shit up on one of her worlds! – and just… carries… a… shovel?

It’s been awhile since I have posted anything, but I thought it was time to show what I’ve done!

First, the cape is finished. I think I will likely re-make this eventually, since the purple lining is too heavy for the black fabric, oops!

The collar is supported by a wire frame that has a supportive arch for the shoulders. I really do love the cape though, It has such a pretty drape to it and overall, I’m very happy with it! I really love how it hangs and I’ll get better pictures of it eventually.

The second update is my progress with the armor! I am so in love with how it’s come out! It’s almost finished. The only thing I need to do for it still is the connector/clasp thing. Right now it’s supported by wires. I plan to use this same type of wire to support the internal frame of the connector.

Now that they’re in place, I’m really glad that I went with the glass gems instead of waiting for the acrylics. I really love how shiny they are and how brilliantly they capture light. I will have to get some batteries for my camera and take better photos of everything. My next post will probably be more pictures, or another update for the outfit.

Slayers NEXT - Give A Reason (8-Bit NES Mix) v2

I finally went back and redid one of the songs on here that I was the least happy with. The samples on my older version of ‘Give A Reason’ were all terrible. This version is MUCH better, and a whole lot improved. A version of one of my favorite anime openings that i’m much happier with compared to the first time I tried.

Another update!

I have assembled all of the clays I will need to get started, and I even have made some progress into the project.

The season 1 armor is probably a ways off, but the color I thought was pretty good for it, so i ordered it with the other two metallic clays. Both golds and the silver are very metallic (I am not a very good photographer, especially with my tablet, so sorry the sparkle of them doesn’t really show through. x.x) The black is just a nice flat black. It’s a lot darker than a lot of black polymer clays I have used, so I’m really hoping it will bake up that dark. I had planned to paint it originally since so many are off black, but I’m hopeful with this one.

Moving on! The gems above are so much more vivid in person. The big ones are made of glass, and the little ones are made out of acrylic. They both capture light really well and I can’t wait to use them.

Also, I made the talismans. I’m not entirely happy with them. I think that the metal part at the bottom is too long and too wide. I will most likely make another mold for them later and try again (Please ignore the bumpiness of the one on the right in the second photo, it’s an awkward shadow, and the actual talisman has a clean edge). I really love the material once it’s glossed, the metallic texture and color really pops! It kind of looks like glitter in the photos, it’s a a lot more subtle in person.

I also plan to eventually make a second set of talismans that has the original four colors instead of the four red, but the stones I’m planning are a bit pricey for lots I’ll only use one each from. So that’s a bit further down the line.

And a couple updates on other project details: The replacement fabric for the interior of the cape arrived! It’s almost finished, I just need to sew a wire frame into the collar and get it properly arranged. I’m still waiting for the outfit fabric to arrive, once it does I’ll get to work right away!

My next post will most likely the cape, and maybe something else!

Some progress so far. I finished the earrings. Although I may wind up re-doing them later since there are a couple spots that are uneven.

The custom eyes! I have two sets, one is larger and the other is thinner. I’m really not sure which one looks best, what do you think? The eyes were made by the talented Ersa Flora! One set of eyes was a surprise gift! They capture the light in a really pretty way too. I’ll try and get a better photo of them.

The gems are for the OVA outfit. I’m not sure when I’ll start on it but the gems were on sale for so cheap I really couldn’t miss the opportunity to buy them! . I plan to do the NEXT/TRY armor and outfit first, but the OVA set will be next priority.. I have most of the materials on hand now. I’m waiting for some better sculpting tools to arrive. I also think I’ve finally found the gems to do it with, it’s just pricey.

Sadly, I have no updates really for the cape. I damaged the fabric I had planned to use for the liner and had to order something else. As soon as it arrives though it’ll be cut to size and will be posted :).

I decided to make a post since I just got the tracking number on my custom Lina eyes! Very excited!

I have also started working on the earrings. I was a bit disappointed at first that the color wasn’t at all what was listed, but I can make it work. I have a very pretty gold paint on hand, so I’m layering them up to get a rich color.

I have also started construction on the cape, so hopefully my next entry will have earrings, eyes, and a cape all completed! Wouldn’t that be something?

I thought it might be time to make a post on this tumblr, since I set it up for this purpose.

I hope to document a long term project here of making a custom Lina Inverse doll.

I plan to (eventually) Make the various outfits, accessories, and armor pieces shown throughout the series. Both in animated and other media form.

I can’t wait to share this
