Vanellope Chapman Theory

Episode 6 Spoilers ahead!

So obviously Van Chapman has got some big ole secret. The clues thus far have been:

1. Character sheet claims she's a level 6 human, but she has inhuman traits: "my pupils change"

2. Intense fear of the ocean leading to this reaction:

3. Her being asked if she's part of a pirate family and this being her reaction:

4. The "Story Penalty"

So, a level 6 human whose insides of her prosthetic arm can be damaged as if the insides are organic. What mechanic in dnd matches this?

"You have two [one in this case] special appendages...choose whether theyre claws or tentacles. As an action, you can use one of them to grapple a creature."

Remember Van's grappling ability? It's not perfectly the same, but close enough to be suspicious.

Need more proof? Decided to take a look at her arm in the official art.

That's right. Tentacles.

Van Chapman is a simic hybrid. Most likely part kraken.

I think Van Chapman was either:

Expiramented on and was made part kraken

Has a family curse that is exasperated near the ocean that got out of hand, her arm turning into a tentacle that was then cut off. Then comfrey made her a replacement prosthetic

Comfrey made the prosthetic specifically to keep the curse at bay.

Lemme know what yall think! I think I hit the nail on the head with the simic hybrid stuff, but the story as to how or why is still a mystery for now.

one of the consequences of using the term "yaoi" to describe memes about gay people, is that i genuinely think alot of people think "yaoi" just means "gay pairing" when like it's, it's own specific sub-culture/genre with it's own tropes, because the entire joke about "old man yaoi" is that most of your standard bl is kind of. incapable with fatness or oldness, like if you showed a 2007 fujo disco elysium gay art i think they'd throw a little bit.

Verily, man, this wizard peace is splendid. I just saw a guy clap his hands together and say "spirits o' field and vineyard" or something along those lines, and every one around him was showered in fresh-baked pastries and loaves, had their cups fill with aged wine, and then were soothed by a warm summer breeze. The minstrels didn't even sing his praises, that's what a joyous time this is. And here I've just been casting calming dew and level 2 aura of cheer. I think I just heard "power word: dessert" two groups over. I gotta get over there.
