No, you are not being a "baby" or sensitive, ableism against people with physical and mental disabilities is normalized in society.

The r slur is even coming back which disgusts me. Unknown to me because I never watched the Helluva pilot where Blitz says it to Moxxie. There is a callback to the r-slur in Western Energy, Blitz is about to say it but stops himself. I dislike how he was about to say it to someone who is illiterate.

I do not know about Brandon or Adam if they are neurodivergent, but Viv has ADHD. She does give me the vibe of "It is okay for me to use ableist slurs because I am neurodivergent!" Like no, the r-slur had been used against people with physical disabilities.

In general, neurodivergent people [mainly the white ones] are hellbent are trying "reclaim" the r-slur. It is also not uncommon for neurodivergent people to be ableist to people with physical disabilities like Down Syndrome.

Back to Ghostfuckers, Blitz and Mooxie being grossed out by hotel bellhop is fucked. The villain already called him a "thing" and now the main leads are like "Ewww!!" I had to blanked out when this scene came up because I do not remember at all.

It is wild that this gag even exists because Fizz is a quadruple amputee character, making him disabled. I guess this gag is okay because Fizz has pretty privilege and can hide his prosthetics while this guy's disability is visible which is #nasty!!!! /s

Ok so i saw a post mentioning how Spindlehorse was hiring animators again, and i thought "huh yknow im really curious what the turnover rate of animators is in this studio" because i mean its a genuine question considering how i swear theyre hiring new animators every other week

So then i checked IMDB...

Before i go on i wanna put some context because its kinda needed for what im about to say:

On IMDB there's a section of the cast and crew page labeled "Series Animation Department". This is the section meant primarily for animators and storyboarders among other jobs in the same vein.

Now. Can you guess how many animators/storyboarders Helluva Boss has gone through in less than 2 seasons?

444.

That is four hundred and forty-four individual credits, a majority of whom didn't stay for any longer than a few episodes. I have never in my life seen an animator turnover rate this skewed.

But i saw this and i went "well it cant be that bad right, what about other shows?" because admittedly i didnt know a lot about animation so for all i knew this was normal. So i went to the IMDB pages of other animated shows

RWBY: 164 credited animators over 9 seasons

Murder Drones: 11 Animators over 7 episodes

The Owl House: 88 Animators over 3 seasons

Amphibia: 73 over 3 seasons

Steven Universe: 44 over 5 seasons

And just to be fair let's include Hazbin Hotel, which had 62 in 1 season

This means that for one reason or another Helluva Boss has gone through more animators in less than 2 seasons than shows that ran for SIGNIFICANTLY longer go through in their entire lifespan by several times and that astounds me

gay cowboys honestly interest me a lot because of all the history behind them, which id recommend kaz rowe's video to learn more about. i feel like this could make striker a more interesting character but since he isnt that fucking owl he gets sidelined and is now homophobic because fuck that guy i guess!!!!

Daily reminder that there was already an actually interesting layout for Hazbin Hotel that ACTUALLY felt like it took place after the pilot but it very likely got scrapped for the bs that we got now-

Like THIS genuinely feels like some thought was put into it, unlike the official 'hey let's have a war with fucking Heaven as a season 1 finale and not put any work into getting to know any of the main characters'.

(And YES, I will be using this scrapped layout as groundwork for Limbo Ave. and possibly another au that's just basically the pilot version of HH continued for this storyline-)

(And DOUBLE YES, despite some of the plots being used in the official release I don't consider or accept it because it's obvious af that they just took the description from the scrapped work and just fucked off with everything else because no one could be bothered to take their time and think of a way to make the new stuff actually FLOW well)
