Studio Practice | Kelpan
This Project is from my Design Studio Practice unit. It is for an organic seaweed fertiliser company called Kelpan. They are a new b-corp brand entering the premium consumer organic fertiliser market. Kelpan focus on sustainable, natural hand harvested seaweed and as a brand they place the environment before profit. Their target audience is the conscious consumer at which the product was to display an urban and modern approach. My task was to craft a brand identity that lives on pack as well as in the digital world.

YCN | ACTION ON HEARING LOSS
This project was for a Action on Hearing Loss brief to visualise hearing loss.
My campaign is called ‘SPEAK CLEARLY’. It is a simple slogan which has a much deeper meaning. I have added a sub slogan saying ‘BACKGROUND NOISE CAN BE HARD TO FILTER’. This gives the reader more context and information as to what meaning the single two words are referring to. After reading my phrase and slogan your eye is then led towards ‘Action on Hearing Loss’ telling the reader where to find more information on the subject matter.
My target audience is 18-25 year olds, I decided to locate my initial campaign into a popular setting for that age range. I used a cafe to take photographs and record sound waves which are used throughout the campaign. I have used context of the environment my campaign is to be placed in into the poster itself. I believe that this will ensure that people who interact with the campaign will be able to relate to it and therefore have interest.

Stationary Design | Floral Mandala
This is a personal proposal project. I chose to create a series of stationary design with an intricate mandala pattern. Mandalas’ are a circular figure representing the universe, I found that this connected with me as I was able to personalise my mandala to reflect my personality. Each layer of the mandala has a meaning and a personal signification.

Ethical Design | Munch
I have designed an app for an ethical design project. Munch is a healthy eating app for students or young people on a budget. It is set up to your dietary requirements, goals and needs. It allows you discover new recipes and filter through your search by meal, time of preparation or calories. Once a recipes is selected it will present to you the ingredients, method and nutritional values. You can then save recipes to your favourites or/and add them to your basket. In the shopping basket section it will tell you the best supermarket to go to to get all of your items at the cheapest price. You can also see what supermarket is cheapest for individual products.

Live Design Brief | Bite the Ballot
This project was for Bite the Ballot. They are a ‘national, youth-led movement’. In this specific brief they are setting up a campaign to get 16-24 year olds to vote. The campaign is called ‘Political Animal’ and my challenge was to promote the campaign through an A2 poster which could be later featured on a series of t-shirts.
I used Adobe Illustrator to designed a geometric styled lion. I then changed it’s typical colours to a palette of blues and purples to reflect the campaigns ‘lively’ and ‘playful’ personality. I added the website and logo centred bottom as it is positioned clearly. The viewer is enticed by the lion illustration and then is taken directly to the campaigns website so that they can find out more information. My design has a distinctive style and would be easily recognised in different contexts.

Photography | Facial Identification
This project is based around facial identity and recognition. It is an example of an outcome I have produced in restricted time conditions. I used Adobe Photoshop to edit each image and then sent them off to be professionally printed onto a matte finish photo paper. I then cut out each individual image, tape bordered them and attached a thin fishing wire at which was then attached to a mount board to compose the arrangement above.

Book Design | The Black Cat
This is my book design with dust jacket for the short story The Black Cat by Edgar Allan Poe. I used type, layout and hierarchy to visually present the narrative of the story. I carefully selected specific words/sentences which appeared to be critical parts of the story and displayed them in an alluring and compelling format. The dust jacket is made from white paper which has been delicately screen printed with matte black to reveal the title from the paper colour. It is an elegant and fragile characteristic to the book which represents the characters within the story.

RIDT | History of theatres in Portsmouth
This project consisted of a walk around Portsmouth at which you would document and find a topic area which interests you. I chose to focus on theatres in Portsmouth. I looked into the history of theatres in Portsmouth and what theatres still exist today. Kings theatre and Theatre Royal are the last few theatres that remain in Portsmouth. I presented these findings in a booklet along with vector illustrations of each theatre. I also made a map of Portsmouth which shows where the theatres are. This is displayed on the back of the booklet, utilising every page of the booklet.

Information Design | Animals own risk to life
Using Adobe Illustrator I have designed a consistent series of animal pictograms and created an infographic poster to depict own risk to life. Using the data set provided, I developed an information ‘narrative’ which illustrates the predation index, sleep exposure index, the overall danger index and the effect they have on the hours these mammals sleep. The design is simple and easy to interpret with a geometric style.
