BLOG 5
With just one week left before Reading Week, there was an unexpected change—our in-person class was moved online. Attending classes from home was a nice change of pace, especially since most of our courses transitioned to an online format. Perhaps our professors noticed how exhausted we looked and decided to make the switch!
This week was relatively light in terms of workload, but I have a feeling things will get much busier after Reading Week. With midterms and various assignments approaching, the weeks ahead are likely to be intense.
For now, I’m enjoying the brief lull before the storm!

BLOG 4
This week was exceptionally cold, with temperatures dropping to -21°C and even lower. Despite the freezing weather, the excitement is building as there are only two more weeks until Reading Week.
One of the highlights of the week was a class activity where we created and participated in a quiz with our classmates. It was a quick and engaging exercise that made the week feel shorter.
Academically, the workload was manageable, with just one major assignment to complete—developing an evaluation tool. This was a significant project that provided valuable learning experiences. For the assignment, I used PowerPoint for the first time in a while. Initially, I had forgotten many of its functions, but I quickly regained familiarity with the software.
Overall, it was a productive yet relatively easy week. Looking forward to the break ahead!

A Busy Week of Learning and Growth
This week has been increasingly busy across all courses. In this course, the assignment—specifically the presentation on defending a business gap—was completed during the online session. For the second class of the week, the focus was on research analysis tools, as well as learning how to build an effective evaluation tool. Additionally, I explored Request for Proposal (RFP) opportunities and searched for different postings from provincial sites. This was a completely new experience, but it has been valuable in understanding how to navigate and analyze various RFP postings. Overall, it has been a productive and insightful week.

Week Three: Blog 2
This is my second blog for the Emerging Technologies course, covering what I have learned in Week Three. I am starting to understand the course better, including its objectives and the skills we will develop.
This week, after completing my assignments and attending classes, I gained insights into the concept of business gaps. Many organizations face these gaps, which can hinder growth and efficiency. For example, one common business gap is the lack of a skilled workforce capable of executing tasks effectively, which negatively impacts the company’s overall progress. Another significant gap can arise from poorly managed infrastructure, such as inadequate cloud computing systems or inefficient data storage and management.
So far, this is what we have explored in Week Three, and I look forward to learning more as the course progresses.

Week One: First Blog Post
Hello, my name is Harwinder, and I am currently enrolled in the IT Services program. This is my third semester, with just one more to go before I complete the program. This is also my first time writing a blog, as one of my instructors for the Emerging Technologies course has assigned us to create blogs as part of the curriculum.
I think this is a great opportunity to learn something new and expand my skills. However, I must admit that during the first week, I found the course a bit challenging and didn’t fully understand everything. That said, the instructor seems approachable and laid-back, which makes me optimistic about the journey ahead. Let’s see how it unfolds!
