Finally got around reading Kyogoku's POV on Kasumi's route, and I-- 😭😭

I'M SO TENDER THEY LOVE EACH OTHER SO MUCH

Look, as someone who'd been in a relationship similar to what Kasumi and Kyogoku has, this hits a little too close to home IT HURTS

Kyogoku may seem all possessive and childish in his affection for Kasumi, but in this POV we see how perceptive he is towards Kasumi's feelings and how mature he is to be so aware of his own feelings, not letting any of it affect Kasumi more than he already did. Kyogoku just wants to take care of Kasumi, just as much as Kasumi wants to love Kyogoku with all he has. I love how they wrote how Kyogoku comes to terms with the extent of what he can do and acknowledge there's someone else who actually can get Kasumi to be happy, all the while overlooking the fact that Kyogoku is a big factor himself in this.

In short, I LOVE THEM

Yuzuru had the strongest story all around, Kazuomi the sexiest and Kei the most complex story that S1 seems unfinished. In terms of MC, I can't really compare them...she seems so different in every route, playful in Kazuomi's, sensitive in Yuzuru's, vulnerable in Kei's. Abilities-wise, she's the most competent in Yuzuru's, of course, since if she's not, Yuzuru won't give her a time of day.

Kei's S2 blew me away, his route just gets better as it goes on because his story is the most extreme, the vibes of his route is just so different; darker and more intense. I love reading well written unhealthy codependent relationships, they're delicious. Kazuomi's appropriately grandiose and fits his brand of merry, but they were going in circles here and the MC ticks me off here. I absolutely hated Yuzuru's S2 because I love him so much and the plot they gave him was :/ and most of the relationship conflicts in S2 were just meh and already addressed before, it's as if they regressed :/ or I'm just being nitpicky because I loved his S1 so much.

This is an amazing season overall, with the character developments on BOTH sides and strong plots. Kei's a bit confusing but the plot was nothing I expected and they've grown so much together. Kazuomi's got the edge over Kei's because they finally stop going around in circles and opened up to each other. Yuzuru's is just perfect all around, the pacing, plot, character and relationship development is so...(screams)

If it's not already obvious I have a giant bias on Yuzuru lol Kazuomi's too extravagant for my tastes (but I like his looks and interactions with MC outside his route), Kei's just not my type.

Yuzuru's a bit out of place within the 3S's, he's a good egg while the other two have questionable morals and arguably straight up criminals. MK plays up the "bad men" and "dangerous spy" angle a bit too much, but overall MK stories are pretty strong with good amount of sexy. I see why they're LCs.

(Disclaimer: I don't spend equally on the routes, so my opinion's a bit flawed and based on the impressions from no-hearts route.)

i'm broke most of the time and also a serial rereader, if i like a story i would reread them for at least twice, so my reading pattern for love choice looks like this:

first run: no hearts at all

second run, if i liked it:

A) read again and only select options i really want to read

Kazuomi S3, Kei S2 S3, Banri etc.

B) if and only if collector's edition is available: refer a runthrough and select cheapest options possible + scenes i'm really really dying to know

So far the routes I do this for are my absolute favs only:

Kasumi, Yuzuru (S1), Kyogoku

C) if i'm neutral about the character/story: buy pov only

Kazuomi S1 S2, Kei S2, Takado etc.

this absolutely works for me precisely because i love rereading to catch details and i read very fast.

my feelings for LC is a love-hate kind, i love that i get to test-read the story from start to some kind of a finish with the option of better stuff, IF i loved it enough. it saves me the disappointment if i buy a regular story with coins and the story was bland.

but the downsides are the fact that LC titles are usually pretty strong so it's easy to love them. they're usually slowburns and i'm weak for good slowburns I LOVE THEM so it's bad for me. normal ends are usually unsatisfying, their marketing is doing its work and it compels me to buy argh

hearts are so so expensive AND the price hike is steep, my self restraint is constantly tested i had to be strong.......

look, if voltage keeps on churning good LC titles...i don't know whether to be happy or dread it.

so most of LC titles rants i make here are usually a no-hearts impression of it, unless it's my 3 favs lol take them with good amount of salt

welp it's been months since i wrote anything on here i still have at least two kasumi analysis to write, need to give the ms another once-over, and read the side stories!! last opened love365 in march, life has been....not good

yuzuru s3 brought me back so will be in yuzuru phase for some time before i get back to that (kasumi ily you're my #1 but let me love yuzuru, his s3 is so good <3)

THAT S3 IS SO SO GOOD IM SCREAMINGGGGGG

THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, THEIR WHOLE RELATIONSHIP, THE FINALLY GOOD PLOT (S2 was so bad I hate it), AND THE BEST MK MC

I lost count how many times I was like chef kissing the story perfect, finally a good plot unlike the travesty that was S2

I WANT THEIR RELATIONSHIP AND A YUZURU OF MY OWN 🥺🥺🥺🥺 The honest communication, the vulnerability they show to each other (esp Yuzuru!! What a good, good character development from S1! The MC is sensitive and sensible and looking every bit the spy she is 😌), the RESPECT for MC's whole being and time OMG YOU PERFECT MAN, the...maturity and everything of their relationship just makes me remember how good a healthy relationship can be. I LOVE THEM AAAHHH

Out of the three of them Yuzuru's the only one route having a relationship and temperaments suitable enough to even consider marriage, and it's mentioned multiple times, so.....it is a possible future 🥺

MK S3 being consistently good, what a treat and threat to my wallet, I'm happy but my moneyyyy 😭

Happy (Belated) Birthday Kasumi! 

Since Kasumi won second place in the 100恋+ election, Voltage wrote a mini story in celebration of his birthday! It was released on his birthday, January 29th, but I wasn’t able to get it translated right away. It was a little rushed, so I’ll be making small edits here and there as time goes on.

(They also released a birthday book, which I hope to also translate and post eventually, but there’s a lot of text so it might be a while.)

context: i was losing my head over yuzuru and why i love him, then naturally my thoughts went to kasumi and was like, if i get this bad over yuzuru, who's a surprise for me, what about kasumi who i already love?? and now here i am, writing metas when i should be writing something else, and when i never did this before for any other voltage men 🤪 i wrote short analysis of sen but that pales in comparison over what i write for kasumi....i truly lost it alright kasumi's not like any other voltage men he deserves it!!

Dr. Kasumi's name meaning 🐧

I did a little research on Kasumi Toshiki (霞 俊希) name kanjis.

"霞" means mist or haze, foreglow or afterglow but also dimness of sight (kun'yomi reading -> 'kasumi').

"俊" means sagacious, genius or excellence (nanori reading -> 'toshi').

"希" has a lot of meanings like request, hope or rare and more. But the one which suits the best is hope. (on'yomi reading -> 'ki')

His name suits an outstanding person like him, right?

One of the top 3 cardiovascular surgeon, who represents hope for patients. Those patients with rare cases, where other surgeons already gave up. His family name matches his theme in the story.

For those who aren't familiar with Kanji, here is a short explanation for the readings:

-Kun'yomi reading is the Japanese readings for Kanji

-On'yomi reading is the Chinese reading for Kanji

-Nanori readings are the Japanese reading (closely related to kun'yomi)), which only used for the name of people or places.
