H4: Complexes – Pt.1 Artoria
They have been living together for a month, but only now recently started sharing a room. Firstly they couldn't because they were shy, then because Louis was being teased, and then... Artoria turned in front of the mirror, remembering her father's words that she needed to tighten her stomach with something, otherwise all men would run away from her if she undressed. Ironically, she somehow got married. She sighed heavily and looked at her body in the mirror again. Without several layers of skirts, large sleeves, but just in underwear. A bit chubby.
Artoria turned sideways, noticing a small tummy and a few stretch marks on her thighs. This body was clearly not the limit of dreams, and sooner or later, when she and Louis had sex, she would no longer be able to hide herself under her nightgown.
Turning away from the mirror, she took out a shirt and skirt with a kind of corset that was tied around her stomach from the wardrobe. When the shirt was pulled tight around her chest, Artoria wanted not to leave the room at all. Why couldn't you just wave your hand to remove all unnecessary things. However, she couldn't eat less at all anymore. When she lived at her parents' house, it was easy, but now with Louis... He immediately noticed all this and began to ask questions about how she felt. If she tried to lie that she was feeling unwell, then the question of the doctor immediately arose. In general, it's a vicious circle.
The skirt, which was held on the stomach, had a number of advantages, but also a lot of disadvantages. The main advantage was that she could tighten the lacing tighter so that what should not be visible could not be seen. Disadvantage... It was painful to sit and it was so hard to breathe. Artoria looked at herself in the mirror with a sigh, Now that her body was hidden and shackled by layers of clothing, it was also better, right? Absorbed in her own thoughts, she did not notice at all how she was approached from behind. Artoria noticed only when the lacing on the corset began to loosen that she shuddered and turned around. There was no reproach or condemnation in Louis' eyes, just an unspoken question.
— You know, it seems to me that a person who feels comfortable and confident is much more attractive than an opinion imposed by someone, — Louis completely loosened the corset, lowering the skirt a little lower so that it does not press on her stomach. — And you know... ladies with rounder shapes have always seemed more attractive to me than skinny ones.
Artoria looked at him with a little disbelief in her eyes, blushing slightly because of the situation. When Louis also realized that he had actually untied his wife's skirt, a slight blush appeared on his cheeks.
— I understand that it's hard for you, but, — he carefully tied the lace, making sure that it did not press on her stomach. — I want you to be healthy. By the way, I made waffles and added a little more honey, you like when it is sweeter.
Louis kissed her chastely on the forehead and nodded towards the waffles that were on the table with the tea. Indeed, why worry about a little extra weight when it's comfortable, and injure your health with a hunger strike... Artoria smiled and, standing on tiptoe, gave the man a short kiss on the nose. She was definitely lucky to have him as her husband.
— Thanks... For the waffles and for your existence.

Name: Madison Jane Montgomery
The only living daughter of Dr. Montgomery Montgomery and adoptive older sister of the Baudelaire children. The lone survivor of a fire that killed her family . Warm yet stern, Madison is a different creature compared to Dr Montgomery. When the Baudelaire's come to live with them Madison took like a fish to water to the role of older sister. She has a knack for asking the right question.
After a near fetal run in with Count Olaf the Montgomery - Baudelaire family move to Durham, England. It is here when a striking and young Professor Moriarty crosses into their lives. For better and for worst.
(If you want to use it the picrews are here and here)
I wasn't happy with the original profile so I decided to update it. And yes, she is named after Madison Montgomery from AHS. I saw an opportunity and I couldn't resist.

Psychological Study of Moriarty the Patriot
Trigger Warnings before the essay: Suicide, Suicidal ideation, PTSD, OCD, Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, Grief, Death and Perceived Death.
Mental illness and Villainy
Mental illness has a history in the media of being ascribed to villains and villainy; this often allows for the mental illness to be perceived as evil. Various mental illnesses can be attributed to villain representation. In a study published in 2003, forty-nine children’s movies were viewed and studied for depictions of mental illnesses. Twelve of the children’s movies showed characters with mental ailments; eight of the twelve portrayed violence with said characters (Wahl et al 2003). Along with eight movies portraying violence with those characters, 64% of the subscribed mentally ill characters were not trusted by other characters in those films (Wahl et al 2003). Mental illness and villainy have gone hand in hand, where villains were seen as evil because they portrayed such mental illnesses. Luckily, Moriarty the Patriot uses mental illnesses to humanize its main villains.
Summary
Moriarty the Patriot is an anime about William James Moriarty, who is a mastermind of crime. William calls himself a crime consultant and uses crime as a means to an end; this end is to reveal all the horrors of 1800 England’s class divisions and their impact.
The class divisions mentioned in this media talk about the upper and lower classes of 19th century Britain. The aristocracy affects commoners by putting them in deadly situations. Moriarty the Patriot explains the trauma that many of the commoners have been subject to because of their mistreatment.
William James Moriarty uses crime to reveal these mistreatments and trauma. By using crime, William begins to gain the attention of Sherlock Holmes. William begins to feed Sherlock mysteries that he solves revealing the misdeeds of the aristocrats.
William James Moriarty: A Case Study
William James Moriarty is dealing with depression and suicidal thoughts, which are intense and difficult to handle. Since William was a child, he was willing to sacrifice himself for the “greater good.” William has been dealing with his depression and suicidality since he was a child. William wanted to sacrifice himself and use himself as a savior to escape his guilt and fears; this is a common experience for those who have contemplated suicide.
On the bridge with Sherlock, William states that he has “bloodied his hands” and cannot live because of it. William feels as though he is not worthy of living. Sherlock counteracts William’s thoughts and tells him that he can atone. When others reach out to those debating suicide, it can be a shock which is how William reacted; he did not want to be tempted by Sherlock’s call to live. William rejects the help that Sherlock is giving him, because he sees death as the only way to atone. When people contemplate suicide, they often see death as the only way out or as the only way to deal with their problems. William struggles with the idea of life and has a hard time coming to terms with it. William’s humanity is seen in his struggle.
William is seen as this cold, calculating figure who knows everything. When we see William struggle with his thoughts, we can see a much more human side to him. We see William in his darkest moments, where he is actively wanting to die. William contemplating death and seeking ways to escape, allows the audience to understand his fears and desires. When the audience sees William, this cold, calculating figure struggle, we see his humanity.
Louis James Moriarty: A Case Study
Louis James Moriarty does not suffer as much as his brothers, William and Albert. Louis does deal with his own mental illness. Louis is influenced by his trauma and that is often portrayed with anxiety. He worries a lot about William and Albert. He does not want to lose them. Louis is very worried when the villain, Milverton was around because he did not want William’s plan to be ruined. He also did not want William to get hurt. Most of Louis’ worries make sense and are understandable. Within the reasonable worries, he does worry quite a lot and more than most other characters.
One thing that Louis Moriarty deals with is anticipatory grief. Anticipatory grief is a coping mechanism in which someone grieves someone’s death before it happens. Louis is afraid of losing William before the “Final Act.” This fear is especially present when William and Sherlock begin interacting. Louis feels protective of William and is scared that he will lose William before it is time. With anticipatory grief, there is this fear that a loved one is going to die sooner than thought.
After William falls and disappears, Louis is not seen grieving the way other characters do. Louis experiencing anticipatory grief has allowed him to deal with grief before William’s perceived death. Louis continues his life and is not dragged down by guilt or grief because he already dealt with those feelings.
We can see Louis grow from an anxious person to a leader. Things get better and easier after they are dealt with. We don’t see much of Louis, but when we do, we see that he’s worried and concerned about his brothers. We see that Louis is grieving and is afraid that William will leave too soon. We see his humanity within them his struggles. Louis is a very reserved character who keeps his cards close to his chest. When we witness the worries and fears of Louis, the audience is able to understand him in a new way. Louis becomes much more human.
Albert James Moriarty: A Case Study
Albert James Moriarty is the only Moriarty brother from the original family. He is the one with the title and with the status. He has been told to use his status to manipulate others, but he refused to do so. He tried to use his title to help others however that did not always end well. He has stated several times that “I feel a strong discomfort when things are not in order” which could be very well interpreted as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, especially since he has a large urge to fix things. When the audience begins to see his view, we see that the world is distorted and “not as it should be.” Albert shows that he struggles a lot with wanting to fix everything. When William came around, Albert put him on a pedestal because he seemed to know exactly what to do to fix things.
A difficulty of OCD is that people want to fix something but are stuck with not knowing how. A relief is found in repeating small habits, some of which can be detrimental. Albert is seen wanting everything to be “in its right order.” Albert does not let others clean his room or clean up after him because everyone else would clean it up incorrectly. There is a possessiveness that can occur with OCD in which those afflicted are possessive in fear of others making “things worse” (ie. triggering OCD). Albert is seen being possessive of his room, not allowing others to come in unless he completely trusts them.
Before chapter 62 came out, fans speculated that Albert was a cold, manipulative man with almost no redeeming qualities. People did not know anything about Albert other than he was smart, calculating, and manipulative. The audience saw that Albert hated the aristocracy but did not understand why. When chapter 62 of the manga came out, the audience began to see why Albert hated the aristocracy. Albert’s humanity was seen through his struggles and fears. When we saw through Albert’s eyes and saw the distorted world, we began to feel sympathy for him.
Once Albert’s world was seen, his humanity was recognized. The audience saw that Albert was no longer just a villain but a human. The fans began to see Albert as someone struggling with how the world is.
Conclusion
Moriarty the Patriot has more characters with mental illnesses, such as Sebastian Moran with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Sherlock Holmes with manic depression, and John Watson with PTSD and a disability. Not all of the characters who have mental illnesses are villains. Sherlock is not a villain; he is portrayed as the hero and suffers similarly to William. John Watson is not as affected by his PTSD or his disability as other characters, however there are scenarios in which he lashes out when something traumatic happens. Sebastian Moran reacts similarly; he lashes out and deals with a lot of stress when his PTSD is triggered. The main characters in Moriarty the Patriot all deal with something that seems mentally debilitating. When we see these characters vulnerable, we witness their humanity. Many of Moriarty the Patriot’s villains are seen as cold and calculating but that changes when we see them deal with their mental health. Mental illnesses in Moriarty the Patriot is not vilified; it make our characters more human.

Sleep
"For three years, she would stay in William's old study room and read books until she would fall asleep on his couch. Louis could only sigh and cover her with a blanket while lightly scolding her. But he still let her be."
"They were all aware how much she missed him yet not once they have witnessed her shed a tear since his 'death'."
