sooo grateful zac oyama frequently and fairly consistently chooses to play explicitly japanese / japanese-american characters when playing human PCs. and even the ‘fantasy races’ are often so coded to that (mavrus is soooo japanese to me. find him at HITC this year 🥰) and i think a lot of the time asian-americans are not as comfortable with it as he is. all this to say i understand the criticism around Skip and i still don’t give a fuck
