Folly Analysis (Why I think her lore is a metaphor for BPD and Childhood Trauma)

as someone diagnosed with bpd, i see myself in folly and feel for her. "my physical form is born from crimson hatred." feels like such a real and genuine way to describe the experience of having to live as the manifestation of someone else’s abuse/hatred. victims have to live through what someone else chose to put them through, and it’s hell.

folly also refuses any items, sometimes referring to it as a pitiful gesture, or an attempt to “change her ways.” she’s distrusting, another line of dialogue; “kindness has taught me to never trust another. not ever again."

the dreamer, or folly, was punished for being kind. why be kind again when that possibility of experiencing a betrayal akin to the one in the cleave is possible? is it worth the risk? (no, it’s not, because people with borderline have extreme fear of abandonment. personally, abandonment is a very similar feeling to betrayal.)

she also seems to have a problem with projecting. i project onto others all the time, it has its positives and negatives, but mostly negatives.

she’s always referring to people as pitiful, helpless, angry, helpless, etc, but i have a feeling she’s projecting her own insecurities and regrets about her trauma onto others as a way to cope. she blames herself for not recognizing the signs (even if there was no way to prevent the cleave) and that’s why she prioritized physiological knowledge over anything else. so she has the upper hand next time.
