One thing I greatly appreciate about university is how you can just leave and it's your choice to be here. I'm here at the library right now and i don't like it that much, the lights hurt my eyes and i am feeling very very sleepy, i would like to go home and go to bed. And what's great it that I can literally go do that if I want, and I could also skip my two classes I have later today. But I will not do that because I am making the choice to stay here in the library and study, I am making the choice to aspire for all As. It's not like high school where you're forced to be there. And I think what's funny is how I've done so much more well academically in college than I did in high school, and I think I can attribute a lot of that to just having more freedom here.

the word “illegals” is the most dehumanizing thing ever and tells me immediately that you don’t see illegal immigrants as human beings. I fucking hate when I see people refer to other living people as “illegals,” it’s stripping away their personhood and reducing them to “things that aren’t supposed to be here.” Fuck off. People come over the border for so many reasons and the vast vast majority of them are not dangerous in the slightest and are only looking for a safer life. What would it take for you to leave the place you’ve lived your whole life and take a dangerous, possibly deadly trip into a country where you know it’ll be hard for you to live in and where your residency is always at stake? People don’t just do it for the fuck of it.

It’s just one of the things that really pisses me off the most when I see it, it’s so obvious and in-your-face, it’s so dehumanizing and that’s why they fucking love it.
