I'm really proud of myself today - I ran for the first time in a looooong time! 🏃♀️
My sports bra no longer fits (I couldn't breathe properly 😅) and my running leggings were tight so I'm off to treat myself to some new sportswear in the morning 👟 which will be motivating!

Hello there! 👋
It's been almost a year since I last posted...
It had been so long since I'd engaged with anything fitness-related, or worked towards any goals, that I felt a bit of a fraud running a fitblr account. So I deleted my account (or so I thought). I was thinking today how valuable tumblr had been for me on my fitness journey - the accountability, the community, the motivation, the advice we shared. The lovely supportive friends I made.
So I was so relieved to be able to just log back in and see you all here still! I was not looking forward to trying to find you all again from scratch 😅
I started silversmithing and pottery, and launched my own silver jewellery business which I'm so proud of 🥰
Here's the link, if you're interested:
Stories in Silver took over much of my free time, and whilst I love doing it, I have the tendency to fixate on something to the point where I neglect other areas of my life, such as my health and fitness.
My asthma also declined which made me worry about doing cardio.
I'm at the heaviest and most unfit I've ever been - but I'm not here to beat myself up about it. I'm here to cultivate motivation, consistency, and balance again.
Please, if you remember me and want to reconnect, comment or send me a message to tell me how you're doing! I'd love to hear from you all again!
Love, Steph 🌻

Hi so today I wore trousers that I accidentally bought too small and haven't been able to wear. That was only a month ago. No change on the scale. I'm glad I don't put too much stock in what the scale says anymore 🤷🏼♀️

I'm still going!
I had a week off for illness. That one lonely dot last Thursday was a trail run 🌳 🏃♀️🌳 first one in ages!
Today I did strength training 🏋️♀️ and then a short yoga class on YouTube 🧘♀️
Now that swimming pools are opening again, J and I have booked 2 sessions this week, I cant wait to get back in the water 🏊♀️
April will be the month where I increase my workouts from once a week to multiple sessions and I'm ready for it. I can feel my energy levels increasing already!

Exercising can be so miserable when you’re doing it because you hate your body or want to punish yourself for eating.
But it can be such a joy if we make it about celebrating our bodies and enjoying movement!
Find some form of movement that you enjoy, whether it’s dancing, yoga, wrestling, hiking, or lifting heavy weights. Do it because you love yourself and want your body to feel healthy and strong.

I went for a trail run this morning 🥳
It had been so long. I was looking through photos of a much fitter me from 2 years ago, getting all excited for hikes and trail runs. I realised I had lost that person during the pandemic.
No faffing around with music or gadgets, I just went for it as soon as I had the idea.
I was out for almost an hour, mostly walking with some fun-running through the trees and tiny woodland paths.
On the way back I picked some things with interesting textures to press into silver clay to make pendants. It was nice to stop and just be in nature, noticing things I wouldn't have if I was just racing past. I'd highly recommend combining a run / walk with some foraging, for the soul 🥰🌷🌿

YEEEEEEESSSSS!!! ALL OF THIS ❤
#1 exercise tip:
MOVE YOUR BODY IN A WAY THAT YOU ENJOY
▪️You're never going to like exercising if you don't like the exercises you're doing 🤯
▪️Know the difference between not liking something and something being difficult.
▪️You can push past the difficulties
But you can't push past the loathing

This was the most fun workout! First I worked my upper body on my glorious new multigym. I've added 10lbs to my seated machine fly, and added 5 reps to my lat pulldown! 🥳
Then I picked up my hula hoops for the first time in AGES
Brie was a bit scared of them so she took herself off to a safe distance 😂🥰
Oh it was just so freeing to just move my body for fun and not worry about being perfect or hitting a certain distance or laps or reps etc. Every workout should have some element of this! It makes you feel so alive 🔥
