When the people who hurt you finally leave your life for good, without closure or resolution, it's like "Why did it take you this long to go? Was there ever a chance, an OPPORTUNITY, to make amends in the first place?" And then you think maybe you can fix things and move forward, but they've already decided they're gonna treat you like crap anyway, even if you're the first to extend the olive branch.

It's hard to be the bigger person, and forgive and move on when you know that that's just the way they are; they're cowards, and that's fine. I think I'm learning not everything needs closure, not everyone can handle being held accountable, and not everyone can handle confrontation. And sometimes, you're forced to feel fine about that, and it sucks.

Probably yelling into the abyss, but I think I'm good with that.

I'm tired of putting effort into people who don't put effort back.

I'm tired of giving people infinite chances.

I'm tired of being forgiving.

I'm tired of sticking up for people who would never do the same.

I'm tired of learning all of this the hard way.

I'm tired.

If there's anything I can't tolerate, it's cowardice. Tell me when there's an issue. Tell me you're uncomfortable with something. Heck, yell at me if you need to because at least we can have a conversation. At least give me the courtesy of putting in the effort.

For the friends that have known me long enough, they should know that I will fight to preserve our relationship if we found ourselves in a rough patch. They can be transparent with me. They can get something off their chests if they feel like they need to do so. If I was already allowing myself to be vulnerable with them, then it should be assumed that they could be open around me too. I'm not someone to get offended or feel backed into a corner when someone points out that I've done something wrong, or something to offend them. I can take it, and I can do something about it. If a small bump in the road was enough to tilt the balance, then maybe it was time to part ways.

But do NOT make me sound like I'm incapable of growth, of facing an issue head-on, or of acknowledging and taking responsibility, without putting in the effort to prove otherwise.

That is where I draw the line.

I've given it more thought, and I'm deciding to leave the fandom.
