The Skeletons in my Closet

Most people might say that the skeletons in their closet are from failed relationships- mine are from failed friendships.

Lately the skeletons are seeing light and drudging up nostalgia. They may have been missed but I see it as an opportunity to re-evaluate my choices. I have made great steps in my growth as a person but it is strange to see the person I was - and the people I surrounded by.

okay I know that there are terrible terrible people out there but listen

I also know that there are people who stop and smile at tiny plants growing out of sidewalk cracks, people who laugh so loud they snort, people who compliment others randomly, people who take pictures of their friends because they love seeing their friends happy, people who ramble about things that they’re passionate about, people who blush and stutter, people who are kind, people who are warm, people who love and love and love and love.

I don’t chase people anymore. I learned that I’m here, and I’m important. I’m not going to run after people to prove that I matter.

Today my niece had a CT scan on her head due to a bump that's been there for weeks... All I can think about is how I lost my brother around her age due to cancer... I feel hopeless and hopeful at the same time, I want her to be okay.
