72 hours & my life has drastically changed. I walked away from abuse, lies, distrust, and hurt of the man I loved more than life. I stood my grounds and said no more. Although it hurt I want you to know something if this is you.

If this is you, say no more. If this is you, go to that party. If this is you, make friends and choose them first. If this is you, make memories with or without him. If this is you, then choose you. 

Stop choosing him over you. Stop worrying about the drugs he is doing, and the people he is around. Stop. You are beautiful, you are strong, you are courageous, and you can say no more. 

I stood in a hole digging deeper for 4 years, I watched a man I loved dig himself deeper, when he promised he was getting out. Instead I dug with him. I let something I had never seen before ruin who I was. I looked in the mirror with a blank stare questioning my worth based off his actions. I said no more. I said I choose me. I said I choose the truth. I said I choose to be selfish for once in my life and do whats best for me. That day I chose not to choose him. It hurt. It sucked. It was awful. But if this is you remember the words of your creator,

you are more beautiful than rubys, you are worth more than silver or gold, you have no price tag because you my love, were bought with precious blood. You can say no. You can walk away, you can live. 

Live your life, go be with your friends, surround yourself with good rather than bad, and make memories. Stop blaming yourself because he decided to shoot up, instead make a change and walk away, because hunny you can’t fix broken until broken wants to be fixed. 

Step away and pray. Pray for health and good blessings, pray for safety and wisdom, pray for strength and hope, not for just yourself, but for him as well. I know he’s hurt you, and you have let him ruin your life. But pray for him, love the ones who hurt you, but step away. I promise when the time comes you will know, its time for you to go, because its not your job to fix him, especially if he’s the reason you are broken. Pray for a healing hand in his life, but recognize, understand, and walk away because that healing hand can no longer be you. You can’t help fix other people until you fix yourself.

In a relationship, you need somebody who’s going to call you out, not somebody who’s going to let everything slide. You need somebody who doesn’t want to live without you, but can. Not somebody that is dependent, but somebody who is stronger with you. A relationship is two people, not one.

do you remember the first time you were called annoying? how your breath stopped short in your chest the way the light drained from your eyes, though you knew your cheeks were ablaze the way your throat tightened as you tried to form an argument that got lost on your tongue. your eyes never left the floor that day. you were 13. you’re 20 now, and i still see the light fade from your eyes when you talk about your interests for “too long,” apologies littering every other sentence, words trailing off a cliff you haven’t jumped from in 7 years. i could listen to you forever, though i know speaking for more than 3 uninterrupted minutes makes you anxious. all i want you to know is that you deserve to be heard for 3 minutes for 10 minutes for 2 hours forever. there will be people who cannot handle your grace, your beauty, your wisdom, your heart; mostly because they can’t handle their own. but you will never be and have never been “too much.”
