I placed the advertisements in places other than Liverpool One. This was due to the feedback we were given. The client wanted to advertise to place around Liverpool, other than the centre of Liverpool itself. For example, Warrington, Ormskirk, Chester etc. Therefore I would place the advertisements on bus stops in these places and on buses traveling outside of Liverpool. The advertisements could also be placed on trains and on billboards in these areas.

Individual Development - Experimenting with the pm

The images above show the amount of experimentation I did before coming to a conclusion as to which pm I would place on the advertisements. I played around with creating the pm out of circles as the 8 is a very circular type however I don't feel this worked. My final decision was togo with a round typeface which looked graphically better and would reiterate the fact it was remaining in the same position. I experimented with the size of the type as much as possible, printing off designs to see whether the type was the right size. The last image was my final choice on both layout and style of the pm.

Individual Development - Experimenting with layouts

After receiving the feedback and re-photographing the coffee cup I deciding to place a pm after the 8. This would remain in the same place, along with the 8 for every image if I was able to create one for each shop. The 8 would remain in the same type which is futura throughout every image, creating moulds would allow me to do this. However, this could only be done if there was a big budget and I was able to get into the shops once they had closed.

The images above show the experimentation I went through to decide on a layout for the design. The amount of information on each advertisement would depend on where they were situated however the 8 and pm would always remain.

Re-photographing the Cafe Nero Image

After getting our feedback off Jon and laser cutting the new stencil with Jo and Amit, we photographed the Cafe Nero shot again. The 8 looks so much better already! We decided that after taking the photos and editing the image it would allow us all to use the typeface and layout we wanted for the final advertisements.

Today we decided to re-cut the coffee stencil based on the feedback we were given from the presentation. We decided to make the new stencil with the typeface futura. The idea behind this was that if we are able to do all the shops then the 8 would be in the same typeface for each one.

GIF

This is the final GIF we intend to present to our client. I made it using Photoshop as it allows you to change the timing of how long each image is shown. The idea behind the GIF was that we were able to add more images to it for each shop in Liverpool ONE. The timing can then be changed based on the number of images there are included.

Presentation

Here are some screenshots of the presentation for the client meeting that Jo and myself prepared. It is a step by step as to how we got to our idea and how this developed into the final image. There are also a few slides which prompted us to show the physical thing we had created and how the advertisements would be shown in Liverpool ONE.

New window stickers

Myself and Jo made new window stickers today which linked with our new 8. We were going to pop down to Liverpool ONE and take new photographs however we still had a lot to do and it was getting really late. The only solution I could come up with was to photoshop them in. I only photoshopped them into the photographs which were bright so they looked convincing.

Proposals Publication

We decided that the best way to show our proposal sketches to the clients was by creating a publications with our ideas for each shop within it. I feel this will work really well and it means the presentation isn't full of ideas we want to do and weren't able to achieve.
