It was my first time presenting my artwork this Wednesday at the farmer's market at SUNY-ESF. It was nice to receive a lot of feedback from people and meet other artists in the area. I had a lot of fun and I'm hoping to be a part of it again next semester! 馃榿

This artist uses surrealism to create strange female figures. I love his work, he's an inspiration of mine for my next project.

While looking for inspiration for the idea project involving water, I came across this amazing artist. She grew up on Lake Erie and took inspiration from nature along the shore. Her pieces involve beautifully flowing water along flowing trees to create a contrast in the same piece. The textures and motion she creates with her work is amazing. http://4rtgallery.blogspot.com.br/2015/05/ocean-inspired-ceramic-sculptures-by.html?m=1

These are some pictures of the mugs I've been making at home recently. I love using natural elements as impressions in the clay slabs. Once I bisque fire them, I put underglaze on the impressions and then wipe it off with a sponge so it only stays in the veins of the leaves. I use fern, oak, juniper, strawberry, and many more plants I collect on hikes to bring inspiration from local forests. Winter comes and goes and with it the forest life varies, but I love the permanent aspect I can get from a ceramic impression.

My Mother Nature sculpture is almost finished! I wanted to represent that feeling you get when you take a walk in the forest, and find yourself at home with your surroundings. When you immerse yourself until it is one big symphony of life. We are a part of nature, and it's a part of us. To separate oneself from it is man's biggest mistake. But to recognize where we all come from and what we rely on is a step forward with making the world a better place.
