Cool Start to the Morning: Where to Grab Acai Bowls in Gainesville
http://foodfacts.mercola.com/acai.html
Source: (https://www.healthydietadvisor.com/weight-loss-pills/acai-berry/)
Acai bowls are a cold, healthy, and refreshing breakfast option that is perfect for summer. The acai bowls are made from a small, reddish-purple berry that is known as a super food and is native to South America. The acai berry is harvest from palm trees that are local to the Amazon River Basin in South America. The berries are linked to a series of health benefits, including high antioxidant levels. Acai berries have high amounts of calcium, fiber, Vitamin A, iron, and other vital daily nutrients, and they are lower in sugar than other fruit options. They also contain nutrients that have been linked to reduced muscle inflammation and arthritis prevention.
The plentiful health reasons and delicious taste make acai bowls a healthy breakfast and powerful energy booster to start the day. Several kinds of fruit, honey, nuts, chia seeds, flax seeds, and even bee pollen top the acai bowls! Gainesville has picked up on acai bowl trend, and now several restaurants serve them.
Vale Food Co., Vale Food Co. is a new restaurant in the Gainesville area and originally started in Tallahassee, FL. Vale offers a variety of healthy food options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and located at 3841 S.W. Archer Rd. Vale Food Co. has a mission to live an earthly life, and that is embodied in their acai bowls. The customizable acai bowls make for a perfect breakfast or light healthy snack. Vale allows you to choose and customize the acai bowl with a wide arrange of toppings. The customizability of the bowls at Vale was a feature I enjoyed, and the bowls taste great. I chose the acai bowl topped with banana, blueberries, strawberries, peanut butter and honey. Although Vale Food Co. is a further away from the University of Florida campus, the food is worth the drive.

3Natives:
Located just a short walk from the University of Florida campus, 3Natives is an acai and juice bar. 3Natives has a beachy and enjoyable atmosphere, and it makes for a great study spot or hangout place. 3 Natives started in Jupiter, FL and opened a location in Gainesville located at 1023 W. University Avenue Gainesville, FL. 3Natives has breakfast and lunch options including wraps, bagel sandwiches, smoothies, and acai bowls. They offer 10 different acai bowls topped with a variety of fruits, and you can even add peanut or almond butter. I chose the V.O.T. which is topped with granola, mango, kiwi, pineapple, strawberries, shredded coconut, and hempseed. These tasty and vibrant bowls are a perfect breakfast to grab before class. The staff is extremely friendly, and the atmosphere is very cozy.

Top of the Morning Cuisine in Gainesville: Civilization and Flying Biscuit Café
The biscuits live up to the restaurant name. Flying Biscuit’s airy, and crumbly biscuits are a true southern treat in the morning and pair perfectly with their breakfast entrée items. The café offers delicious omelets, eggs benedicts, and off the griddle breakfast items. Flying Biscuit also picked up on the new trend from California, and now offers a breakfast entrée with avocado toast, poached egg, fresh fruit, and a biscuit called the California Dreamer. The wide variety and delicious food make the Flying Biscuit Café a great place to grab breakfast any day of the week. Gainesville is home to several different breakfast locations, but two of the absolute best are Civilization and the Flying Biscuit Café. Civilization is a local, eclectic restaurant that serves brunch, lunch, and dinner, and the food is definitely worth the wait. Flying Biscuit Café is a chain restaurant that first started in Atlanta, GA, and opened a location to serve southern, comfort food in the Gainesville area for breakfast, brunch, and lunch. The two are some of the most popular destination for breakfast in the community and are sure to be popular on the weekend mornings.

Civilization located at 1511 N.W. 2nd Street Gainesville, FL, and it believes firmly in supporting the local community. For this reason, Civilization sources many of its products from local farmers and growers. The menu has a wide variety and selection that is sure to please. Civilization offers outdoor and indoor seating and has a friendly and very authentic staff. Despite the sometimes lengthy wait, Civilization is a near perfect dining experience, and it quintessentially embodies the local culture of Gainesville.

The “Diner Deluxe” is an item on the brunch menu, and comes with eggs, creamy Southern-style grits, and features the new and California-inspired food trend, avocado toast. The grits at civilization are a perfect consistency and deliciously creamy. The combination makes for a well-rounded and satisfying breakfast.

An absolute must try at Civilization is the lemon ricotta beignets. This sweet starter is paired with an organic raspberry puree and sprinkled with powder sugar. They are perfect to share with the whole table, or paired with one of Civilizations espressos or cappuccinos. I highly recommend getting to Civilization right when it opens at 10 A.M. to avoid the rush of returning happy customers. With all of the variety and fresh ingredients at Civilization
The Flying Biscuit Café This popular chain café is home to southern style cuisine, sit down and casual dining experience, and good service. The chain opened the Gainesville location at 4150 N.W. 16th Boulevard Gainesville, FL. Just like civilization it is a very popular breakfast destination.
