The way that exclusionists treat ace and aro people often reminds me of how the average person would treat me when I started being open as non-binary. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it a thousand times, we are not enemies. Our experiences do not oppose each other, they are intertwined. If you’re ace, if you’re aromantic, if you’re any variation thereupon; your home is here. You belong here, too. You are beautiful, and powerful; and you don’t have to explain yourself to anyone. You are a valued part of this community.

gfriend theory LW/SR/TFTMN
Theory of Love Whisper/Summer Rain/Time For The Moon Night by Gfriend
So, first of all, this is just a theory and I’m not used to do this or anything so… there will be some inconsistencies around stuff that I can’t quite understand (yet) but please – just bear with me.
Well! Let’s start.
After watching and linking the music videos I’ll be talking about, you should know that they don’t exactly obey a chronological order – the flashbacks in TFTMN show that really well – so I will be going back and forth while writing this.
For starters, LW is the first part of the story and it depicts the girls happily living in something like a paradise until Yerin hears something weird in her recorder (or whatever that is, lol) and they decide to follow it.
Well, the setting of the MV led me to think that they are not human. Gfriend must be some kind of spiritual beings or anything like that.
So, they are in their house and Yerin hears something from a certain.. radio station and the voice, that I will be addressing as the Whisperer, guides them throughout LW. I assume, by the song title that the Whisperer tells them about love… human love. It probably talks about how wonderful that feeling is and that they could experience it if they followed the sounds.
Yerin, taking almost a leadership position, feels quite intrigued and convinces the girls to go – which isn’t difficult since they were all curious about it.
So, then it begins. They travel through their world, taking a train and walking through a forest… always listening closely to the whispers/sounds that were leading them to where they were supposed to go.
Their final destination is that tree at the end of the MV and they see the butterfly as the one who was guiding them… this entity that no one is sure who it is or what are their motivations to be talking and guiding the girls.
I get that the moment they turned that recorder on, they were transported to the human world. And this is where some things start to overlap between SR and TFTMN.
I believe the happy moments they were living in TFTMN are from before SR and right after they arrive in the human world… the girls, there, are experiencing their friendship as its best, doing things “human” friends do.
However, as time passes, Eunha falls in love with a human and had her heart brutally broken by that stupid person (probably cheating).
She realizes that as much as human love is wonderful, the pain that comes with it is unbearable. Eunha isn’t a human, so she doesn’t know how to handle the pain and none of the girls know how to help her either… this leads to their group slowly falling apart.
That’s why in SR we don’t have scenes (besides the dancing ones) with them together. After Eunha left, the girls didn’t stay together… Yerin felt like it was all her fault; Yuju felt angry she couldn’t help; Sowon wanted to bring them together, but she couldn’t find the way to do it; SinB felt the loneliness take over her life; and Umji… was left alone like a little boat in the middle of a storm.
However, even things seem to be hopeless, we see that SinB reads something that makes her surprised… and I think that the notebook she found must’ve some clue of either how they could fix Eunha or go back. Things get a little foggy for me here, but my guess is that, somehow, Eunha ends up contacting the Whisperer or some other entity and when she does that, she is again manipulated and her soul is detached from her body and she is transported to some other realm.
Her body dies on Earth and the grave we see Yuju leaning on in the MV is hers.
The girls are still living in the human world as they hadn’t found a way of going back - nor wanted to without their friend. We can clearly see how they’ve changed with the time passage (SinB has a more angsty posture, Sowon looks apathetic etc), but most feeling remain and this is shown by how regretful and sad Yerin feels.
The scene in which Yerin gets that tape player and cries (beautifully, if I may add) is so strong. We can feel how she thinks she shouldn’t have followed that voice; how it is all her fault that they are stuck in this foreign world and how one of her friends is dead.
Well, moving on and going to Eunha, we see that she is, at first, in a field and in a house with a window, so she doesn’t look trapped even though she is. That scene in which we see the girls running towards her is, in my opinion, created by Eunha’s loneliness. The place she’s at is actually an illusion of whatever is messing with them since LW and she knows that. It is shown that she is actually inside a very cheap room, locked up and alone.
While that, Umji is still alone. And we can see how emotionally hurt she is. Umji is constantly folding and throwing paper planes that inevitably fail to fly; they are just paper and they can’t get far no matter how hard they try… they’ll never really fly. And that’s how she feels. We can see she is physically hurt as well; her knees are bloody and covered in bandaids and that only tell us how she is unprotected – after all, she is the youngest of them, she was supposed to be in care of Sowon and the others… but now, now they’re all gone. And she can’t do anything about it… she just stays there, endlessly and uselessly folding paper planes.
Yerin is in similar situation. I also think the scene in which Sowon approaches her and makes her smile is her mind’s illusion – a method of coping with the loneliness, the good… the bad memories and the guilt. But here’s come something very interesting… that I’ll address later on. Just keep the place where this happens (the room with the lamps) in mind.
So. There we go to Yuju and the balloons. The way she released them made me think that she was giving up, but after Umji sees it and later on they are all together, I think the balloons actually brought the girls together. It was like a call… Yuju was pleading them to do something about all of that.
Anyway. We know that SinB was probably the one who helped Eunha get in touch with… whatever that ended up locking her away, therefore, SinB knew something about it and she is, indeed, capable of finding Eunha.
So, when they show us SinB opening the door to Eunha’s room, it’s is perfectly acceptable to think that she was rescuing Eunha. However, there is another take, in which she is searching through the night with the other girls. And what does this mean? Well, in my understanding, the SinB that opens the door is not the real SinB.
On Earth, the five of them are searching for Eunha with the flashlight and everything and, while that, Eunha is meeting up with fake versions of them. We see them playing a game, laughing, finally happy to be reunited, but… just observe the awkwardness in how they all hug Eunha. It looks fake and Eunha looks terribly uncomfortable, like she knows those girls are not her friends.
And the Eunha the girls find in the end and sit side by side is not the real Eunha as well; the way “she” looked at the camera seemed extremely suspicious to me since the first time I watched it, and as I tried to figure out what was happening I came to a simple conclusion: there have been a swap.
Why? I still don’t know. I also couldn’t make much of the meaning the fish tank has or that box Yuju left on Eunha’s grave, but my thoughts are that someone is messing with them and the fact that I don’t why is literally eating me up lol.
Oh, yeah. About the room with the lamps.
It seemed really strange for the illusion of the girls with Eunha and the scenario Yerin created were both set on that room. I think it’s really improbable that they are in the same realm by that time, but I do think there’s a connection there. Maybe the one making Yerin so depressed is the same who locked Eunha away…
Maybe Yerin is the real target of all of this and not Eunha.
But I mean… these are just speculations.
If you have any idea of what of this means – just feel free to talk to me, lol, it doesn’t have to be anything related to my theory, it can be just a discussion about yours!
I just… feel like I’m going insane with GFriend.
Anyway. That’s it.
Thanks for reading.

I LOVED ALL OF THEM SO MUCH BUT KIHYUN’S BY FAR MY FAVORITE. IM DYING HERE
MONSTA X / Mafia AU - Their child’s first sleepover
REQUEST: can I get a Monsta X mafia au where their child is going on their first sleepover and they get really over protective?
OTHER MAFIA AUS: BTS / EXO / GOT7 / MONSTA X
WARNING: some sexual themes if you squint whoops
Shownu
Hyunwoo’s daughter was the most precious to him and he made sure to shower her with gifts whenever he could, no matter how many times you told him that he’d end up spoiling her. He told you that this was exactly his goal. He just loved her so much, he felt like he had to make her the happiest child in the world.
However, he could also turn into a strict father within moments, especially when his precious little girl told him that girls from her class were having a sleepover and she wanted to go, too.
“Let me talk to mommy quickly, okay, sweetheart?” he asked her in a sweet voice, brushing a strand of hair away from her face.
The girl nodded eagerly, knowing that you will definitely give her permission to go; it’s just Hyunwoo who would need convincing.
“Y/n,” he said to you after closing the door of your shared bedroom. “What’s a nice way to say no to our daughter? I’ve never had to do that before.”
You frowned. “Why do you have to do that now? What did she say?”
“She said she wants to go to a ‘sleepover,’” Hyunwoo made air quotes with his hands as he said the last word, his facial expression making it seem as if just thinking about sleepovers gave him a stomachache. “And I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
You put the book you were reading away, intrigued all of a sudden. “And why is that?”
“Because!” Hyunwoo said as if that was his only reason: because. “Who knows what kind of girls will be there? Who knows what they’ll talk about? Or worse, what if there are… boys?”
“Boys… are not exactly the same as scary, fire-breathing dragons who will kill our daughter, Hyunwoo,” you said, surprised by this side of him.
“Yeah, but they might break her heart and then I’ll have to kill them and, damn it, I just don’t think it’s in my job description to kill children,” he sighed.
“Babe,” you said, rather concerned now because of how serious he looked. “It’s just a sleepover. Just by going there, our daughter won’t fall into a downward spiral towards the pits of hell where the boys are, according to you.”
Hyunwoo sat down on the bed, seemingly seconds away from an existential crisis.
“But she’s my little girl,” he said. “She can’t be going out, sleeping in other houses. She has her house. She has her father looking after her.”
“You can still look after her and give her some freedom,” you said gently.
Hyunwoo took a deep breath. “I will try. But if something goes wrong, I will break every window of that house and get my daughter out of there.”
Wonho
As soon as Hoseok found out his daughter was invited to a sleepover, he used his list of contacts to find out everything about the parents of the girl that was hosting it. But even after he found out that the parents were as ordinary as they could have been, he was still convinced that it was too dangerous for his little girl to spend a night elsewhere.
“I mean, come on, she’s only nine years old,” Hoseok said to you. “I wouldn’t care if these people were the King and Queen of some faraway land, I would still think it was dangerous for my child to go there.”
You sighed, having listened to his arguments about this for the past twenty minutes.
“There will be four girls there in total, Hoseok,” you told him. “The other parents agree to do this. Let’s not ruin our daughter’s chances of making friends.”
“What do you mean, they’re not even friends yet?” Hoseok asked, his eyes widening. “How can I allow my little girl to go somewhere where she’s not even friends with anyone?!”
“T-they go to the same class,” you said, stammering a little because of how stern he sounded. “She barely has any friends because you never let her hang out with anyone. Do you want your daughter to be all alone?”
“Well, no, but I’d prefer it if I could choose her friends for her,” he shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t want anyone to be a bad influence on her.”
“You can’t control her life. She’s a human being, she doesn’t belong to you,” you reminded him.
Sighing in exasperation, Hoseok rolled his eyes. “I know that, Y/n. I’m just looking out for her. She’s my little girl.”
“I know that,” you replied, smiling softly. “But let her do something for herself, okay? Let her try to make friends on her own.”
“I’m trying,” he replied. “But I don’t think she should be looking for friends at this sleepover.”
You groaned, noticing that you were back where you started again.
“Hoseok, I love you, but I’m going to lock you in this room because I know you will never agree to this,” you told him. “And I’ll tell our daughter that she can go.”
Shaking his head, Hoseok gave you a dubious look. “I can shoot the lock off.”
“Not if I chain you to the bed, too,” you added, winking when you saw Hoseok’s eyes widen in surprise.
Minhyuk
Whenever Minhyuk wasn’t working, he was spending time with his son. Whether it was helping him with his schoolwork or teaching him about the different types of guns - something you objected against, so Minhyuk had to do it in secret or he knew you’d ground both him and your son, - he loved to watch his child grow.
However, when he realized his child was now old enough to make friends on his own, he started to feel scared, and immediately told his son no, when he asked if he could go to a sleepover his friend was hosting.
“Why not?” the little boy asked, pouting.
“I don’t think you’re ready,” Minhyuk replied, seemingly forgetting that his son was no longer a toddler. “Maybe in a few years, after I’ve taught you everything you need to know. Not just about guns, but about life, in general.”
Your son ignored everything. “But mom said I could go.”
“Mom said–Y/n!” Minhyuk hollered for you immediately. “Can you come here?”
Begrudgingly - because you could already tell what this was about - you found your son and Minhyuk having a face-off in the kitchen.
“Yeah?” you asked, giving your son a reassuring smile in hopes of making his pout go away.
“Why did you tell him he could go to that sleepover?” Minhyuk asked. “I thought we were supposed to discuss stuff like that.”
“Oh, we are supposed to. I just knew you’d say no,” you explained.
“Okay? So, why did you went ahead and said yes?” he was still confused.
“Because our son wants to go,” you said, walking closer to your son and placing a hand on his shoulder to let him know you had his back. “There’s nothing wrong if he hangs out with a couple of friends. The parents of the boy who’s throwing the sleepover are very nice people.”
“Oh, I’m sure they are,” Minhyuk rolled his eyes. “But our son isn’t going anywhere. He’s not ready for it.”
“Not ready for what?” the boy asked, wanting to stand up for himself. “What do I need to do?”
“Yeah, Minhyuk,” you said. “Tell him what else he needs to do.”
Minhyuk glared at you. “It’s not cool when you two gang up on me like that.”
Your son raised his head to look at you, a grateful smile on his face. You smiled back.
“We’ll take that as a yes, right?” you asked your son who nodded enthusiastically. “Great. Run and pack everything you need to, baby. I’ll take care of dad.”
Immediately your son sprinted down the hallway towards his bedroom, leaving you and Minhyuk alone as he shook his head at this.
“Our parenting game? Not very strong, babe,” Minhyuk told you skeptically but then a teasing smile appeared on his face. “But I have to say I’m very curious how you’re going to take care of me.”
Kihyun
Kihyun was hesitant about his son’s first sleepover but after some convincing from you, he finally agreed to allow his son to spend the night elsewhere for the first time ever. Although Kihyun wasn’t exactly supportive of this, he wanted to see his boy happy.
“Are you sure you’ve packed everything?” he asked his son as the boy smiled at him, a bag of clothes next to him.
“Yes, mommy helped me,” the boy said proudly. “But I did most of the work.”
“That’s my boy,” Kihyun smiled, ruffling the little boy’s hair. “Come on, let’s take this to the car, yeah? Mommy and I will drive you.”
The boy ran out of his room, calling out for you excitedly, and then allowing you to guide him to Kihyun’s car, as Kihyun followed with his son’s bag behind you.
Once the three of you were in the car, Kihyun drove the car to the house of his son’s friend, all while the little boy chattered cheerfully in the backseat. He was truly excited for this and Kihyun had to admit, he liked seeing his son’s happy face in the rearview mirror. He was still worried about this, though.
After he stopped the car outside of the house, you walked your son to the door and had a quick chat with the mother of his friend before returning to Kihyun’s car to find him staring out the window thoughtfully.
“Hey,” you said. “You okay?”
“Sure,” Kihyun answered you, unmoving.
“Can we go?” you asked, then. “I dropped him off. I said we’ll pick him up at nine tomorrow morning.”
He turned to look at you. “I can drive you home if you want.”
“What do you mean?” you frowned. “Where are you going to go?”
“Nowhere. I’m going to stay here.”
“What? The whole night?”
“Yeah,” Kihyun shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t want anything to happen.”
You almost laughed. “What do you think will happen? The boys will play with Hot Wheels until eleven o’clock, instead of ten?”
He glared at you. “No. You know what I mean. I need to know he’s safe.”
“Kihyun,” you said, sighing. “You’re paranoid. And also this is really unfair to your son who is slowly trying to become independent. Not to mention, it’s creepy. Someone will call the cops on you. Let’s go home. Your son is fine.”
Kihyun was still hesitant. “How can I know if he’s truly fine if I’m not here? Who will protect him if I’m not here?”
“There’s nothing happening. He doesn’t need your protection. If anything, you’re putting him in more danger by being here,” you said, placing a hand on his thigh. “Let’s go home, Kihyun.”
“Okay, fine,” he finally said, giving up. “But I’m going to be back here at seven in the morning tomorrow.”
Hyungwon
Hyungwon just watched his son after he told him about the sleepover a few boys from his school had invited him to. In fact, he watched him for so long, your son was starting to get slightly alarmed.
“Dad?” he said carefully. “Should I get mom?”
“Get mom for what?” you asked, interrupting the conversation - or whatever it was - as you heard your son mention you. “What’s going on?”
“I told dad about the sleepover,” your son said. “And dad… I don’t know what happened.”
You glanced at Hyungwon, frozen in one place, and carefully touched his shoulder. “Babe? You okay?”
“He can’t go,” Hyungwon finally spoke, waking up from the trance. “He is too young to go on sleepovers. He can’t go.”
“But I really wanted to go…” your son said, already believing that he won’t get to go because there weren’t enough people who were brave enough to argue with his dad.
“Go to your room, okay?” you told your son, caressing his face. “I’ll talk to dad.”
The boy sighed again and then nodded, leaving the living room and making his way towards his bedroom. He didn’t slam his dour loudly as an act of defiance - he was taught better than that - but the dull sound the door made when it closed sounded so sad, you almost started to beg Hyungwon to let your son go before deciding to use a different tactic.
“I think we should let him go,” you said.
“I think not,” Hyungwon disagreed. “There are too many things that could go wrong if he spends the night elsewhere. It’s not safe.”
“I don’t know what you think eight-year-old boys do during sleepovers but I can guarantee you, it’s most likely absolutely safe,” you said, sitting down on the couch next to him. “And besides, I thought you wanted an empty house for just one night.”
“An empty house for one ni–when did I say that?” he asked, turning to look at you and noticing the smirk on your face. “Oh. Oh.”
“So?” you encouraged, your hand on Hyungwon’s arm. “Can you let our son be a normal boy for at least one night?”
Hyungwon smiled sneakily, his mind already elsewhere. “What do I get in exchange?”
“Anything you want,” you said in a low voice, leaning in to place a kiss on his lips but then pulling away a second later. “Should I go tell our son to pack for the sleepover?”
“Uh,” Hyungwon cleared his throat. “Yeah. Yeah, definitely. He can go. I-if you insist it’s safe.”
Jooheon
Jooheon protected his daughter from everything that could have been considered even slightly harmful. He nearly lost his mind when a bee stung her last summer. He just wanted to do everything he could to keep her safe at all times.
That is why he did not want his daughter to go to that sleepover she told you and him about.
He said he would think about it - because he couldn’t dim the light of hope in his daughter’s eyes, he wasn’t a monster - but as soon as the girl left to her room, Jooheon shook his head at you.
“I can’t let her go,” he said. “Who knows what kind of people live in that house? It might not be safe for her.”
“Why do you always think about the worst?” you asked. “All our daughter wants to do is go to a sleepover at her friend’s house. She wants to play with her friends for a little longer than usual and she wants to fall asleep, talking about their imaginary worlds. She doesn’t want to go on a hike through Europe all by herself, Jooheon.”
“I know that,” Jooheon said. “But she’s my baby. I can’t let her out of my sight for that long.”
“You let her go to school, don’t you?” you said. “This isn’t much different than that. She won’t be alone.”
“There are tons of people at school,” he insisted. “And my men are always nearby in case something–”
“What?” you cut him off. “Your men are nearby? What do you mean by that? Do you make our daughter go to school with–with security guards?”
“They don’t follow her around if that’s what you’re implying,” Jooheon said, rolling his eyes. “They’re just… nearby. In case something happens. I never leave my baby girl alone.”
“You’re going to start suffocating her with your love one day,” you said, sighing. “You need to let her, at least, do this. She will be really sad if you say no.”
“Well, it’s going to make me really sad if I have to let her go somewhere without my protection,” he shot back. “Don’t my feelings mean anything to you?”
You laughed, bringing a hand through his hair. “Come on, Jooheon, you’re a big boy, you can take it.”
He scoffed. “Don’t talk down to me.”
“I’m not,” you laughed again, wrapping your arms around him in a half-hug as Jooheon groaned, hugging you back. “I love you. Let our daughter go to that sleepover.”
“You blackmail me, baby,” he replied.
“Not yet I don’t,” you replied, placing a soft but lingering kiss on his neck afterwards. “Now I do.”
Jooheon groaned again, all of his restraint leaving him. “Okay, fine. She can go to that sleepover.”
“Oh, that’s great!” you exclaimed, pulling away from him suddenly.
“Oh, I said she can go,” he stopped you, pulling you back to him. “But you’re not going anywhere.”
I.M
Changkyun could have won all the awards for best father: he was caring, he was funny, and he just clicked with all children very well. However, Changkyun’s biggest flaw had to be his protective nature. He could have been funny one second, but he was pulling his machine gun out the next.
So, obviously, when his son asked him if he could go to a sleepover, it took Changkyun exactly one second to reach the decision.
“I don’t think so,” he said. “You’ve never been away from home for that long before, let alone at night.”
“Changkyun,” you said. “He will never be away from home if you never let him leave it.”
“Great! I don’t see the problem,” Changkyun replied.
“The problem is that you’re keeping our son locked up inside. How do you expect him to socialize with friends if you won’t even let him make any?” you asked.
Defensively, Changkyun crossed his arms over his chest, glancing at his son who was watching the two of you curiously.
“How many adults will be there?” he asked then.
“Two?” your son said awkwardly. “My friend’s mom and dad.”
“And how many kids?”
“Three. My two friends and me.”
“So, more kids than adults. I don’t–”
You groaned, not liking this inquisition. “Stop it, Changkyun. He’s nine. You’re talking to him like he’s going to a party.”
Changkyun considered this but chose to proceed with the questioning.
“What are you planning to do the whole night?” he asked his son.
“My God, Changkyun!” you exclaimed before your son could answer. “They’re going to sleep. That’s what they’re going to do. And, actually, it’s none of your business. He will tell us what he did when he gets back home, won’t you, baby?”
“I will,” your son nodded eagerly. “I always tell you everything.”
This warmed Changkyun’s heart but he wasn’t sold just yet. “I don’t know…”
“Come on,” you encouraged him. “Our son has plans tonight. I think the two of us have plans in the empty house, too. Let’s not wreck those plans for each other.”
This seemed to be news for Changkyun. “We have plans tonight?”
You raised your eyebrows, watching him for good five seconds before he finally got the hint.
“Oh, we have plans tonight,” Changkyun finally understood you and then looked at his son, sighing dramatically. “Okay. I guess you can go. Your mom’s really persuasive.”
