Why i cant get into bloodweave:

-IMO: Gale’s love language is physical touch; something he has been deprived of. The fact that one of the first things he does to tav is reach for their hand to feel the orb; it’s a type of intimacy he yearns for. Touching is a way for him to feel safe imo: human touch, human connection. The thing that he couldnt enjoy with mystra. “you love me for the man that i am not for the magic i wield” etc.

-Astarions love language in my opinion is a mix of acts of service and words of affirmation. throughout his story, you see how you have to convince him of his worth by affirming him that he is more than just his body, than just sex, etc. You do things for him like feed him, kill cazador, etc. acts of service that make him feel safe. words of affirmation that boost his self esteem etc.

-Astarion has not had the opportunity to explore his needs and wants, or what he evens wants to aspire as a free person. I am a firm believer that he isnt ready for anything except for a friendship. at least during the time where the events of bg3 take place.

-Ultimately I just feel that they both cannot fulfill each others needs. Sure sexual attraction and fantasies can of course exist etc, but the relationship dynamic seems so toxic in my head that I cant vibe with it.

But that being said. I would love for all the bloodweave fans to tell me what attracts them to the ship!! im very curious to see an opposite perspective
