hey hello, sunshines!! yumi here ( aka joonyoung’s mun ), back at it again with more problematic characters with beautiful faces!! ヽ(・∀・)ﾉ this here is hanbin ( they/them ), a choreographer for a kpop/entertainment company!! don’t be fooled by their sunshiny smile and cute scrunchy eyes tho ., . ,. ., , theyre a Mess ™ ! big surprise there ,. ,. anw ! im gon ramble abt them a bit in this lil post here .., . their stats page is up HERE n a wanted plots page is HERE so if u find urself interested in them or plotting or whatever !! really !! just hmu or give this a lil HEART n ill get to u aysap ♡ hip hip hooray

hanbin was born in busan to a family that wasnt exactly well off yk?? n thts p much sugarcoating .,. , they were deadass poor

their father was a drunkard who could barely get out of bed in the morning, n if he did all he would do would be to hit n verbally assault hanbin’s mom and older sister; the abuse had been there for as long as hanbin could remember and yet their father never laid a finger on them, claiming that one day they were going to bring this family respect and honor like a Tru Man ™ would .

so for so long hanbin just watched their mother and sister being treated so terribly by this monster ( then patching up their wounds at night, when the man of the house was either out or asleep ) n they hated going home n hated everything abt their situation

the only thing that got them through the day was dance, which they discovered they had a talent for as early as the age of 7. the teachers at school noted their talent straightaway n altho they knew they didnt hav enough money to actually pursue it, they took it upon themselves to enroll hanbin in a small dance studio, where they were free to practice whenever theyd like

it was around this time tht they slowly became enamored wt the idea of becoming an idol; girl groups dances were so fun n they imagined living a much, much better life than the one they had now, mayb even providing a better life for their mom n sister

so theyd sent sm ent an audition video when they were 14 n voila 

theyd gotten accepted !!!! n were now officially a trainee !!!

( when theyd told their family their mom n sister were elated ,, their dad, tho initially violently opposed to the idea, stepped aside n laughed, saying they wouldnt last a month. what a support )

the training period lasted for 4 and a half years; during this time hanbin began to discover more about themselves n who they were. they began identifying as a demiboy n using they/them pronouns when they were 18, nd of course only those close to them knew, but generally theyd become more expressive ... daresay, happy ??

when hanbin was finally ( !!! ) set to debut, things started to go even more downhill for their family; since finding out about hanbin finally debuting their father was enraged, called them a f*ggot, a disgrace, practically disowning them. in fact, the entire oh family was driving back to their hometown, hanbin’s father screaming obscenities in their tearful face, reeking of alcohol, when suddenly a car had come out of nowhere, hitting them full force

hanbin n their father had survived the attack; their mom n sister did not.

since then hanbin had been diagnosed with depression n ptsd n was claimed ‘ mentally unfit to become an idol ‘, tho bc they had been trained so properly n were still one of the most talented dancers out there sm decided to keep them on ... as a choreographer

( their father still lives in busan; hanbin moved out two days after the funeral. )

so right now theyre a choreographer for rookie groups, watchin them achieve the dream that was meant for them in the first place, n theyre totally NOT bitter abt it

doesnt open up to many ppl .. u think u know them but rly uve barely scratched the surface?? is afraid of getting too close to anyone period . except for their cat whose named after wonder girls’ yubin .
