Seriously, people! Can we STOP using The Owl House to tear down She-Ra and Steven Universe!!? Hearing others refer to The Owl House as "the anti-She-Ra", "the anti-Steven Universe" or "what She-Ra/Steven Universe should've been" makes my blood boil to no end! Do you realize that Dana Terrace, Rebecca Sugar and ND Stevenson are mutual friends who respect each other and their work? Not to mention how they helped paved the way for one another: For instance, without Rebecca Sugar fighting Cartoon Network for Steven Universe to be openly queer, there would be no She-Ra and without She-Ra, there would be no Owl House.

We need to stop tearing queer creators down just to put others on a pedestal. It no longer becomes about "wanting diversity and representation" but about turning "diversity and representation" into some elitist, gatekeeping competition. And that....that is just wrong.

I want to tell a story to the artists and would-be artists out there.

When I was 19, I made a large oil painting of the nerd I would eventually marry. I poured all my attention and care into this painting. It's the only art I have from back then that still holds up as a work I'm proud of today.

I entered it into a judged show at the local art center. It got an honorable mention. I went to see the show with my beloved model. One of the judges came up to talk to me, and highlighted that all the judges really liked the painting. It would have placed, except, you see, the feet were incorrect. They were too wide and short, and if I just studied a bit more anatomy-

I called over my future wife, and asked her to take off her shoe. Being already very used to humoring me, she did. The judge looked at her very short, very wide little foot. Exactly as I'd lovingly rendered it. I would never edit her appearance in any way.

The judge looked me in the eye, and to his credit, he really looked like he meant it when he said "Oh I'm so sorry."

Anyways the moral of the story is that all of those anatomy books that teach you proportions are either showing you averages, or a very specific idea of an idealized body. Actual bodies are much more varied than that.

So don't forget to draw from observation, and remember that humans aren't mass produced mannequins. Delight in our variation. Because it's supposed to be there.

And then because of aforementioned insane amounts of hate had to cancel shows due to mental health and then got MORE HATE. Like wow! Starting to think you don't want principled and authentic celebrities, don't care about women's feelings, and don't understand how mental illness affects people! It will entirely be entitled fans fault if she steps back forever from releasing music

Try and keep in mind when someone says they are Neurodivergent, there are so many things they might mean. And it's okay to be curious and ask things! I can't speak for anyone else, but I enjoy answering questions because the brain is so mysterious and cool!

potentially controversial stranger things opinion

okay!! please don't roast me alive if you don't agree, so hear we go.

When i first watched season 4 of stranger things, i did not love Eddie Munson's character. i thought he was kinda one dimensional and not needed (and also a bit of a dick), BUT i eventually came around and changed my mind and I appreciate him now.

That being said he's still not my favorite and I think that's mostly because i really love the vibe of the first two seasons, and the whole season is very different along with s3. I also think there's a huge difference in Canon vs. Fanon Eddie. That's understandable, it happens with every character ever.

MY POINT BEING, I am a fan of a certain vibe, and feel like stranger things has lost that certain vibe. Or at the very least the fandom has. Maybe that's perfectly fine, I'm resistant to change LOL. And i've found that shows/movies/media whatever, any new installment is usually not as good as whatever our imagination has come up with, and that's okay.

Man, this was a coherent thought and it now a rant. I guess I personally am not a fan of all the Eddie Munson craze and I want to see different content (PS: This does not mean I think this content is bad, I think its cool, and that these artists and writers and creators are incredibly talented.)
