Wait ? Her dad?! Was he talking to some kind of celebrity or something? Oh man... Danny hoped that he wouldn't stumble his way to being as hated or disliked by the popular cliques here as he was in Amity Park. That would be his kind of luck.

Danny shifted to get a better grip on his textbook which he reminded himself, was the reason he was in here in the first place. He listened to her explain more about her family and the fact that they weren't well known seemed to help calm his nerves a little. Made him feel like maybe he wasn't making himself as clueless as he feared he was.

" Oh, well I'm Danny. " The book was finally stowed into his backpack and he shyly ran his now free hand through his hair. Maybe if he had his friends here, he'd feel less awkward. Cult stuff isn't an unusual thing to deal with and Robin is a little concerned that it took blood to make everything light up and start doing something. Not even a massive amount, someone just got a lucky hit in and Robin had to spit blood out of his mouth which is frankly just gross. And now things are happening and the cultists are preparing to worship whatever awful thing they summoned and he really wished his siblings were available.

All day no, all week! Danny had been setting up that old house at 917 Maple street for Halloween the whole week. He'd even recruited Johnny 13 and Kitty to help him out. The teen's pride as a kind of ghost had somewhat been hurt last year when he lost that bet to Dash. So this year he vowed to make the whole place a scary attraction that actually scared people. He even practiced the week beforehand by scaring Lancer and Tetslaff away from the property.

All that effort and work, down the drain, all because the Goons in White just had to make an appearance. Phantom just can't have anything it seemed. He'd stubbornly taken a hit for Kitty to make sure the ghostly couple could make it out of there. And now he was zooming around the giant haunted house trying to dodge a slew of weapons designed to hurt and/or capture him.

Not willing to be caught by these particular ghost hunters again, Danny finally phased upwards to the top floor which was currently locked and boarded up. It would at least give him some time to assess the damage and message someone.

Even before he'd made it up here, the teen knew the damage had to be bad. He'd been seeing smears and streaks of his own bright green ectoplasm all over the place as he'd dodged the rest of their attacks. And now that he wasn't panicking quite as much, he was starting to feel it.

There was an audible noise of discomfort coming from him as he twisted his spectral body to get a better look. Some kind of searing hot anti-ghost energy had made direct contact with his left shoulder and upper back. It had melted through the material of the suit and burned through his skin. Ectoplasm dripped from the wound, but at least Phantom knew it would eventually heal up regardless of it's appearance.

As Danny quietly thanked his lucky stars that the backpack with his phone and homework in it had been slung over the opposite side of his body. Although he was sure the ectoplasm splatter was burning away at some of the straps. The teen could hear banging and clattering where the attic door was.

He was trying to be quick, but all of a sudden there was a strange pulling and tingling sensation all over his body. The feeling combined with the pain caused a wave of nausea to wash over him. Something else was wrong! Phantom's eyes slammed closed involuntarily as he held the bag closer to himself, trying to will the feeling away to no avail. I was like the room was warping and twisting around him constantly

Until it wasn't. The noises around him were muffled at first but it became clear that they weren't the same ones from before. Phantom opened glowing green eyes to figure out just what had happened. In the half ghost's blurry vision he could see... strange markings on the ground in front of him? Candles? Was that blood? Obscured figures beyond the markings seemed to be frozen in place.

Disorientated, Danny kept a firm grip on the bookbag hoping to ground himself to something. Questions automatically spilled from his lips, not that anyone living would hear anything understandable.

///it's really hard for me to get across in my current art (because i draw very cutesy i think. but dw i'll be practicing...) BUT Danny is supposed to be a little creepy even in human/living form. And very creepy in ghost form. He's a ghost! he's supposed to be somewhat scary.

I also play my blog with the intention that all of the other ghosts are also pretty scary or even grotesque looking (think about the lunch lady, she becomes a meat monster... silly in cartoonland but really think abt how that would look irl).

In living form, Danny has a strange air about him. It doesn't affect everyone, but when near him, people might feel as though they're being watched even if Danny isn't looking at them. They may get goosebumps and feel a random chill up their spine. It might feel physically cooler near him, even on hot days.

In ghost form, besides his appearance. well from the ghost abilities list there is

Ghosts can affect the atmosphere and dimensional space around them, within a certain range. Danny included. Colors in the affected area seem off. And indoors, rooms may feel different. Rooms may feel smaller than they are, or hallways may feel longer. }

But on top of that, rooms or areas Phantom are in will feel much colder. Enough to see your breath. Anything electrical may experience interference or malfunctions. (like flickering lights or static/warping on screens.) Unless those electrical devices were made or treated with anti-ghost materials.

Sometimes in living form, if Danny (in living form) is experiencing strong emotions, that may also trigger some of the above things to occur as well.

How does a Ghost work?

All you need to know about the rules of Ghost Physiology, a lesson brought to you by Fenton Works!

—✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦✦

✦Ectoplasm✦ The substance that makes up the entirety of a ghost’s physical form. It also comes in many forms and densities. From a thick slime to an almost watery liquid to a dangerous plasma. Depending on the ghost, Ectoplasm can vary in many qualities, such as corrosiveness. Usually the thicker slime variants are harmless and if dangerous at all will only cause a minor rash or dull burning feeling.  The more liquid or plasma like it becomes, the more likely it is to be harmful to touch, however there are exceptions to this rule! So please use caution when handling! Considering some ectoplasm variants have been known to eat through flesh and even steel in a matter of seconds, you should always wear protective equipment when dealing with the substance or avoid it entirely. Additionally, depending on the form the ectoplasm takes, it can evaporate rather quickly.  Ectoplasm also comes in a variety of bright or neon colors, although all will have at least some sort of glowing quality to them. Green is the most common, however pink, cyan, yellow, purple, and red are other colors to look out for! Ghosts tend to leave an ectoplasmic residue where ever they most frequent. It manifests in more hidden areas of the location such as pipes and the inside of walls. This can cause a lot of property damage and you will need to call a professional to both remove the ghost and work with your ghost related insurances for a clean up estimate. If a haunting occurs any longer, you risk ingesting and coming into skin contact with ectoplasm and if you survive you will need to seek medical attention immediately.  ✦Forms✦ Be sure to remember, ghosts can come in many forms. Big or small, they all have the same capacity to do harm to the living. Many think of the more simply shaped ghosts, usually blob-like with eyes and a mouth. Or maybe one eye and many mouths. Either way, do not let that mental image lead you astray. Ghosts can look very animal or human like. Some can be unrecognizable as anything knowable from nature. Some can create disguises indistinguishable from the living. The latter grotesquely peels off if damaged by the right equipment. There are signs to look for in those that don’t go out of their way to disguise themselves. Some are obvious where others are not. A faint glow about their skin or fur, depending on humanoid or animal shapes taken. Strange colors to them, in any or even every aspect. Look for size differences or an unusual number of limbs, eyes, or mouths. (or a lack of those qualities) They can look quite sickly in some cases. One such case appears to be a blonde haired older teenager with pale “greasy” skin, his motive is usually to relentlessly flirt with living teenage girls. So he often comes into contact range with the living.  There are others that specialize in expert shape shifting. You should pay attention to vocal and behavioral changes in people you know to discern whether or not you’re talking to something you don’t actually know.   

✦Resistances & Immunities✦ A ghost has many passive physiological functions, the most notable being almost untouchable. While they have physical forms, ghosts’ bodies can only be touched by a living creature if they want it to happen. Barring specific equipment or treatments a living human can undergo. This does not appear to always be the case for inanimate objects, as we know some ghosts can bump into walls and furniture (and even break things) on accident. (However, we at Fenton Works study this phenomenon in only the most ghost active hot spots. Which could skew that specific information due to a lot of materials, objects, and products,  more often than not, being treated with anti-ghost materials and substances.)    Given the above information, you should be aware that ghosts’ physical forms usually cannot be affected by weaponry or containments of any kind. For the former, on the off chance it does work, we recommend giving the ghost a quick wide berth after your attack, as ectoplasm splatter may be dangerous and will most definitely stain clothing– if not destroy it. The right equipment; treated with a special synthetic type of ectoplasmic material, extracted material from special types of plants, or made with a special type of ore, are the only things we know of that can deal with the constant ghostly threat. 

✦Eating Habits✦ As far as we know, ghosts do not truly need food to keep their forms from deteriorating like a living person does. However, they can eat pretty much anything. Food, objects, cloth, other ghosts–usually humanoid ghosts will go for animal-like ghosts in much the same way the living hunts an animal to eat. They don’t lose out from not eating, however they do gain from the act of eating. Depending on what they eat, ghosts appear to become slightly more powerful or energetic. The consumed material acting as something akin to a fuel for a fire.  *We do have on record, many types of ectoplasm based foods within the ghost zone. Not just animals, but also fruits, vegetables, and grains. Do plants create ghosts of themselves when they die? A subject that bears further looking into. 

✦Specialized Functions✦ Ghosts who have special abilities, such as weather manipulation– infuses ectoplasmic energies into whatever it is they do. This adds an extra danger to say, a flood or a blizzard. You do not want to be flooded by ectoplasm contaminated water or pelted with ecto-infused snow. It is important to follow any protocol your local government, school, or workplace issues for ghost related emergencies. There should be documents at any of these establishments relating to any situations we have recorded previously. If you have not been briefed on what to do in these events, you may be entitled to receive compensation for any damages you manage to survive.  

✦Drive or Motive✦ It is sometimes difficult to tell what a ghost’s true motives are. However there are many that are compelled to tell you, if they are able, exactly what they want. Every ghost has a basic emotional drive relating to some sort of attachment. We assume this attachment is related to things they loved or worked with often in life. They will be persistent as it is almost all they can think about. So please call a professional if you suspect a haunting occurring.  

✦Behavior Pattern✦ Most ghosts actually are very passive and neutral. Tending to leave the living alone and simply exist. However, due to the fact that they still affect areas they inhabit with their residue, they can cause unintentional damages and harm to the living. So even these types of ghosts must be relocated or dealt with in some manner.  The types most often talked about may be outnumbered by the non-aggressive types, but they do significant enough damage even when there is only one around that they must immediately be taken care of by a local ghost hunting team. The aggressive types will go out of their way to satiate their driving motive by any means available to them. This includes but is not limited to; physical harm of any living being in the area, property destruction, water and food contamination, power drainage, theft of property, abduction of the living, and even death of the living.  Some ghosts may attempt to push the living out of a home or establishment in a bid to obtain a territory for itself. They may even engage in conflict with one another over a perceived territory. Or work together as a means to push the living out.  There are no records of any ghost going out of it’s way to do anything beneficial for or to help the living. Other ghosts, yes. But the living? They may trick the living if their goal is to gain something from them, but they will not selflessly act to help them in any manner. They especially will not engage in combat with other ghosts to do so. So be wary if a ghost is offering you assistance or “protecting” you. This is likely a manipulation tactic of some kind.

✦Ghost Language✦

All newly formed ghosts will be unable to communicate with the living. We can use special devices to understand them. Or they can try to get their points across in other ways. However, don’t expect a ghost to be up for a game of charades. The age at which a ghost is finally able to speak to the living in an understandable way, without the use of an aid of some kind, varies from ghost to ghost. But most research into the subject suggests that it must have at least been ten years since the first formation of their physical form.

This page will let you know what Danny’s powers are and what they do. As well as let you know which abilities are basic ghost abilities or special to Danny or other specific ghosts that Danny has encountered. Some of these are very obvious but it is what it is. Any links will likely lead to a post or page I made that expands further on that ability if possible. I will use Danny in the descriptors, unless the ability is not one he has that another ghost does. The color of ecto-energy based attacks is determined by the ghost, so they aren’t green for every ghost. But green is a common color for them to be. Plasmius for example has neon pink ecto-energy based attacks.

— General Ghost abilities —

✦Invisibility✦

Danny can make his body and other things invisible to both other ghosts and the living.

✦Intangibility✦ 

Danny can turn his body intangible to pass through solid walls and objects. Additionally he can turn other people and objects intangible.

✦Flight✦

Danny and other ghosts can float and fly. Notably, without the need for wings.

✦Self Sustainability✦ For a lack of a better term, this describes the ability ghosts have to not need oxygen and survive low temperatures and pressures as well as the vacuum of space.

✦Ghost Ray✦

Danny can fire green blasts of ectoplasm based energy from his hands or fingertips. These blasts often explode on contact and are powerful enough to melt steel. 

✦Energy Strike✦

Danny can channel Ecto-energy through his fists to enhance the strength of his physical attacks.

✦Overshadowing✦

Danny can possess the mind and body of a person or animal, allowing him complete control over their actions. While overshadowing, Danny can still use his other abilities. Danny also seems to be able to leave suggestions in the target’s mind after he leaves. (If he says ‘I’m tired’ while overshadowing someone, when he leaves them, they may actually feel tired.)

✦Software Fusion✦

Danny can introduce himself into computer software and overshadow video game characters/avatars to use his ghost abilities within his video games. Basically, he can play the game as if he were there in person, from the inside of the game.

✦Spectral Body Manipulation✦

Danny can bend, twist, and otherwise contort his ghost body beyond the limits of normal human physiology. Technically this applies to form manipulation and shapeshifting. Which other ghosts can specialize in over others. 

✦Superhuman Strength✦

Danny can lift heavy objects with ease. He is able to rip through reinforced titanium and can easily lift and throw hordes of enemy ghosts.

✦Superhuman Durability✦

While in human form, Danny can withstand many hits and blows that would cause injury to any normal teenager. In his ghost form, his body is incredibly resistant to damage.

✦Superhuman Stamina✦

Danny can exert himself at peak capacity for hours before fatigue begins to impair him. *Danny seems to excel at this ability. 

✦Superhuman Agility✦

Danny’s agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels beyond those of normal human beings. He can effectively dodge attacks, swing from things easily, and preform acrobatic feats such as backflips. **Some ghosts are better with this than others. What matters is that they’re typically much better than the living at it.

✦Regenerative Healing Factor✦ 

Danny is capable of healing at a much greater speed than that of an ordinary human being. Sometimes, instantly- if the injury isn’t very severe. Even his suit/clothes appear to regenerate very quickly at times. *** Please note, Danny himself can regenerate from being turned into a splat on the ground. Like the previous ability, some ghosts may be better than others with this. 

✦Ghost Language✦

Ghosts don’t normally speak in English with each other unless they’re trying to get a message through to the living. Humans may understand their very strange language with the use of the Ghost Gabber or the Fenton Phones. *Danny also writes in ghost language without realizing. This results in poor grades frequently as it looks like gibberish.

✦Telekinesis✦

Danny can move objects from a distance by grabbing them with ecto-energy.

✦High Pain Tolerance✦ 

(if not injured by very specific things) Danny doesn’t feel physical pain anymore, unless injured with something used specifically to hurt ghosts or he has been injured by another ghost. Most of his reactions to normal injury are of shock or surprise.

✦Atmosphere Manipulation✦

Ghosts can affect the atmosphere and dimensional space around them, within a certain range. Danny included. Colors in the affected area seem off. And indoors, rooms may feel different. Rooms may feel smaller than they are, or hallways may feel longer.

✦Anatomical Liberation✦

(an actual unused idea from the cartoon) Danny can split his body apart and still maintain control of each body part. He is immune to cutting and slashing attacks due to being able to just put himself back together. Although if cut or slashed with a ghost weapon or attack, it does take longer to put himself back together, on top of being painful.

✦Hammer space✦

Danny has a pocket on him that can store vast amounts of objects. He can fit things into the pocket and take things out of the pocket that appear as if they shouldn’t be able to fit through the pocket. This pocket is connected to Danny’s “door” in the ghost zone. Doors found in the ghost zone typically lead to a specific ghost’s lair. But Danny’s door is only accessible through his pocket. Since he is not technically a “full ghost”, there is no handle with which to open his door from within the ghost zone.

— Danny/Specific-Ghost Abilities —

✦Electro kinesis✦

The generation and/or manipulation of electricity and devices that run on electricity. Danny has less control over this ability and it is one of the abilities that have a tendency to act up according to Danny’s moods. Which can take the form of static cling, cell phone/video interference, magnetism, and lights flickering.

✦Duplication✦

Danny can create duplicates of his body that retain all of his ghost abilities and fight along side him. So far he is only able to duplicate into four separate bodies. (Plasmius however, can make hundreds of duplicates of himself at any given time)

✦Cryo kinesis✦

Danny can fire blasts of icy energy from his hands or eyes that can freeze enemies on contact, radiate cold energy from his body, and create objects from ice out of thin air. Danny can combine his cryo kinesis with other abilities for enhanced effects, such as an icy explosive blast or generating an ice shield to block fire attacks.

✦Ghost Sense✦

When Danny is near other ghosts, a cold blue mist comes out of his mouth and a chill goes down his spine. A signal of sorts to tell him when ghosts are around.

✦Ecto-Energy Constructions✦

Danny can create constructs made out of solid ecto-energy in variety of forms, including concentrated ecto-energy balls, waves, and explosive discs/rings.

✦Ghost Shield✦

Danny can generate shields made of solid ecto-energy that can nullify or even reflect attacks from other ghosts. Like his ghost rays, Danny’s shields are green in color.

✦Ghost Stinger✦

Danny can send ecto-energy as electricity through an electric current, negating his enemies’ electric attacks and sending them back at the attacker.

✦Ghostly Wail✦

Danny generates an extremely powerful sonic scream that can destroy buildings and cause severe damage to both humans and ghosts. The Ghostly Wail is Danny’s most powerful ability, it drains him of energy extremely quickly and will revert him back to human/living form just after one use. While it is capable of defeating almost any foe, it is only used as a last resort. **** Only Danny or versions of him have been known to have this ability.

✦Repulsion Field✦

Danny can send out a pulse of energy from his body to repel large groups of attackers.

✦Ghost Form✦

Danny has a ghost form he can switch to. He glows, has white hair, toxic green eyes, and many other differences in this form. ***** This is only applicable to half-ghosts like Danny, Dani, and Vlad. There is no switching forms for full ghosts.

✦Paranormal Immunity✦ Another half-ghost specific ability. Danny and Vlad have been seen to be immune or resistant to some tech meant to hurt ghosts (like the ghost shield) while in living form. As well as be immune or resistant to some ghost abilities meant to affect the living. 

✦Creepiness Factor✦

Unlike in canon, Danny has an unnatural air of creepiness about him when in his human/living form. While it doesn’t affect everybody, many people can feel unease, anxious for no reason, like they’re being watched, or as if the room is closing in on them. Danny has no clue he makes people feel this way. ***** This is only applicable to half-ghosts like Danny, Dani, and Vlad.

— Other Abilities to Specific Ghosts —

✦Pyro Kinesis✦ Control, manipulation, and/or generation of fire based attacks.

✦Teleportation✦ The ability to disappear and reappear in a different location.

✦Energy Absorption✦ The ability to absorb attacks and fire them back at the attacker. A very rare ability for any ghost or half-ghost to have. Vlad is one of the few known to have it.

✦Power Augmentation✦ The ability to temporarily increase one’s strength farther enough to break through ghost specific equipment. 

✦Ghost Tornado✦ Creation of a twister of ectoplasm based energy, which both causes massive destruction and deflects incoming ecto-based attacks. Another rare ability mostly seen from Vortex and Vlad. 

✦Lair Manipulation✦ The ability to apply different rules to a specific pocket dimension within the Ghost Zone.
