#its literally like nobody in the winter and we’re all hanging out and chatting#and then in the summer its hell on earth with the line literally across the whole store#plus theyre all rich as fuck and think nothing about buying our overpriced shit and just hand me hundreds like its nothing#while locals are scrambling to make ends meet#i had this one woman say we didnt have cilantro so i offered to look for some for her and she called after me asking for organic#like bitch ur lucky if we even have cilantro#we’re a small town on an island#anyway i sent her to the next town over to check (20 min away)#people complaining about the resteraunts closing early or only open half the week#like yeah no shit#we have no service industry workers cause we aren’t paid a living wage#im entering my fifth month of the rush and its still not slowing down#my coworkers say its worse than any other summer in the past like 30 years#were exhausted underpaid and treated like shit by these rich ass tourists#one of the reviews on our store said one of our cashiers didn’t smile enough at them#people at my till will ignore me or dismiss me and are even worse to the guys packing bags for me going so far as to send them away#because they dont want them packing their bags and then they hold up the line shoving shit in their bags so slowly#and then it wont fit and theyll ask for our bags which are 15c each and im already on the next order so they cant pay for them#can you tell im so fucking done with tourists?#cause i am

Full stop, I hate how disabled people are ripped off when it comes to buying basic items. Why the fuck is an electric wheelchair $4000, ableds can buy a used car cheaper than that. Ableds get everything catered to them yet I’m trying to get a new wheelchair and can’t afford it. That’s my fucking legs. This also applies to things that disabled people want, like I shouldn’t have to pay $1000 for an adapted guitar. You’re ripping one of the poorest population in the world.
There needs to be a cap on how much vendors can charge for equipment rentals and items that are needed or wanted by disabled people but y’all not ready to talk about that.
Ableds, stop monopolizing off disabled people. (Ableds can reblog this - actually it’s encouraged - but don’t comment!)
