Hello! I really like this manga, I’m a fan of the Hajime and Akira couple , I knew they will end up together since the beginning 😆 My questions is how many chapters does the manga has? And what makes Hajime realize her feelings for Akira?

Hello to you! Somehow I missed this ask until now so sorry for the delayed reply 😣 There're 15 vol and around 50 chapters, I think.

Being this late, the translation probably already translated the last chapter but I just want to chip in my thought on how Hajime realised her feelings. Spoiler ahead!

Personally, I think Hajime already suspected her feeling for Akira even before Akira’s admission to hospital for food poisoning. I mean, she did feed him milk mouth-to-mouth and given her personality, that was a big thing for Hajime.

Akira must have understood that as well and that was why he confessed to her not long after.

Akira: Because I don’t want Hajime to not forgive me for the rest of her life.

Hajime: Eh?

Akira: I must have like Hajime already.

(The next page Akira even said, “Or I should say really like” which basically means love in Japanese. But then he compared it to the love a child has for its mother and ruined the whole thing XD. Oh Akira)

Unfortunately, there were Noa and Mizuki in the middle of this. Noa, if you don’t know, was a friend Hajime met at Uni. They became good friends very quickly, probably because Noa was similar to Akira but could express herself better. Noa and Mizuki slept together, Noa went to US and died, Mizuki were devastated and turned to Hajime for comfort. He even asked to marry her, making Hajime giving up on her dream of becoming a designer. When they announced their relationship with others, Akira only smiled and wholeheartedly congratulated them. Hajime, when shaking his hand, started to shed tears. I think she was hoping he would oppose it. Not just to stop her from marrying Mizuki but also to stop her from dropping out of Uni. Hajime at that point already knew Akira is the one who understand her the most.

Later, Akira did oppose her quitting Uni, asking, “Isn’t that your dream?“. Hajime cried for the second time when remembering those words. These instances solidified her feeling for Akira but because she already promised Mizuki to never leave him, she didn’t do anything about it. Things happened later on and Akira confessed for a second time in the most hilarious way. This confession is more for us readers rather than the characters because I truly believe Hajime and Akira already knew the answer at this point.

Is the manga completed? And does hajime end up with Akira? I'm so curious!

The manga is completed! And yes, Hajime-chan and Akira will be together, although not without a lot of denial from Hajime-chan’s side (and the confession scene at the end is just sooo them XD, Watanabe-sensei even drew a bonus chapter on their first date!) I really want to translate this manga, but unfortunately neither Japanese and English are my first language and with my perfectionist personality, it just took too much of my time to translate it all (I took 2 hours to translate 1 page, 1 PAGE!!!!). This manga is currently being translated by someone I think, so be patient (◠‿◠)

Hajime-chan ga Ichiban!

This is one of my favourite shoujo manga, but unfortunately it hasn’t been translate to English yet (SweetSense only translated one chapter T.T), hence, not many people know about this wonderful manga! So now, I’ll try my best to translate and post each chapter on this blog. My goal is to make this manga as famous as I could, and since it’s a big goal, I would welcome any help possible!
