Advice needed!
hi all, I have a question for anyone that knows anything about facebook. I have a facebook page I created years ago with a friend which has not had a single post since 2016 (but there was only one) and before that was only active in 2013. It keeps getting likes, and sure it might be because it is a one direction page, but I was wondering if there was a chance I could sell it to someone, can you even sell pages? It has 1870 likes. I will either shut it down, but thought it would be a waste if someone would bye it, or knew of some website where people buy facebook pages and change them into something else? anyways, im rambling, any advice on this would be much appreciated!

we been knew but a reminder is never out of place: a whitewashed sana is a disgrace to what the character is supposed to represent -sana bakkoush was a muslim woc played by a muslim woc for a reason as it sent an inclusive message both within the fictional world of the show and outside the show for having the balls to cast a muslim woc. yes the balls bc skam easily could have taken the easy route and do what generic tv shows do casting a conventionally pretty white girl to appear “friendly” to the masses as the character’s personality was already “difficult” but they didn’t bc skam wanted that the actress knew exactly what it was to walk in sana’s shoes and knew exactly how she saw the world and how the world saw her in return. skam was aware that having a white non-muslim actress playing a muslim woc demanding respect in a white faithless country would have been an hypocrisy.

So, Alejandro Reina (Lucas) released these tweets today, in remembrance of his friend Joana, who commited suicide this day last year, and I think I should translate this so you can all read how Skam is more than a show or a program, and how everything they do is really important and necessary. Crosstaging because this is not exclusively about Skam España, but about all of the Skam universe.
Here I go:
“Today a year ago a friend of mine, Joana, took her own life. Joana was life, I swear whenever you’d look at her it was impossible not to fall in love with her, she was a being of light. Today, apart from remembering her with all my heart just as every day, I wanted to talk about a situation I came across half a year after what happened. Fuck I swear it’s killing me typing this out. When they started preparing the second season of Skam España, there was a meeting in which they told us what would be the name of Cris’ love interest, Joana. Since then this show started to develop in me really heavy feelings… Not only Skam España had had a lot of really big similarities with my life, but that it was gonna create a character that was gonna have a lot in common with Joana. Joana had the same MI and she was also bisexual, and I honestly swear that nobody in the team or in the writers knew this, and when I found out about it my heart stopped. It was like a part of her spoke to them. With all of this, I just wanna say that I’m in love with the visibility Skam España gave to people with BPD, and not only them, but every person with a mental illness. I’m really proud of the representation it has had, and I’m sure Joana would be too”.

i want to punch every single member of the french girl squad - what the actual fuck. imane could literally be friends with anyone else and they would be more understanding and less cunty than these girls. a group of girls who have literally befriended the girl that gave two of them hell for years (ingrid towards daphne and emma) but can’t have an ounce of sympathy for imane - sorry but cancelled

And while trans people are outed and experience transphobia, its not the only “realistic” trans experience. Trans people come out on their own time at their own pace and have loving support systems. This “realism” argument is really just a cheap excuse for allowing druck to use upsetting content and making fans feel bad for being disappointed in the show for the direction the writers put it in. Realism can be shown in many different ways. Realism does not mean pessimism. (2/3)
(you sent me part 2 and 3 without sending 1 but I think I understand your argument)
3/3 Realism doesn’t always have to defer to hopeless and upsetting stories. The reality is that there are uplifting and even just averagely okay stories that can be explored for these topics too. And topics such as a violent transgender outing, if to be used for realism, deserves more time than two weeks to resolve the plot. Because realistically this is an incredibly hurtful and traumatic event that does not resolve in that short of time wrapped up in a pretty bow or happily ever after.
To be honest, I completely agree with you, that druck has fallen onto a bit of a cheap storytelling tactic when it comes to transgender issues, and they chose a storyline we’ve all seen many times before. And although it being realistic, its not the only reality trans people face and yet it’s the most told. BUT I understand what they are doing in terms of melding an OG outing (the outing of Isak) and turning it into something a bit more current and realistic, because I can imagine a german high school these days is pretty accepting of gay men ((i could be completely wrong just basing it off what I know of germany so i could be wrong, I just see berlin as quite a progressive city in this sort of thing)), so they wanted to tell an outing story of a trans character as well to send more of a message (again, i am assuming, could be wrong). And I get that as a cis woman, I am not entirely qualified to be speaking about trans experiences and how they should be represented in the media. And just because it is an overdone trope, does not mean that druck will not handle well; I just think we should reserve judgement until the end of season 3 and see how it plays out. BUT if it plays out the way the og did and david being the even in this situation (the whole going off the grid and sending a suicide-message like text to isak, if that were to happen david to matteo) , I will be disappointed because it’s just adding tragedy upon tragedy on a character that’s already suffered enough. However, if they use these next two weeks to show us david healing and being accepted, then I will be on board with it, but I might be optimistic. Got off track there, but what I’m saying is that, personally im going to reserve judgement until the end, because I have faith in druck and i think they know they hold a lot of responsibility by handling this topic.

I understand where people’s anger is coming from in the recent druck clip, but what we have to keep in mind is that the druck team has handled sensitive issues in the past with (not always) care, such as panic attacks and bisexuality and sexual assault, and although transgender issues are a bit more complex, just because druck has included a (painful) outing scene does not mean they are doing bad representation. Let’s please wait until the end of the season before we start throwing accusations, because this sort of thing does happen, and as annoying as it is to hear and always see tragic stories of trans people in the media, skam is meant to represent the reality of teenage lives, and in reality a lot of teenagers are quite transphobic (although definitely less than the generations above, as we saw with mr Neuhaus), and just because things are bad now doesn’t mean they won’t improve. Trans characters in tv shows always get the short end of the stick, and it’s heartbreaking to endlessly see tragic scenes related to being transgender, but druck has already given us a trans actor playing a trans character (which is the bare minimum, but still) and I find it hard to believe that they won’t pick up from this sad part of reality and finish Matteo and David’s story well.
#skam#druck#david#isak#please feel free to disagree w me if you think im wrong open to other opinions#i just have a lot of faith in druck#matteo

How is a person who likes bts being transphobic got anything to do with kpop? This is serious. It's got nothing to do with the media they like. Like if someone from the west was transphobic, you wouldn't write off all Western media as bad and evil lol the anti asian racism jumped out
i meant to say k pop fans and forgot to add it, didnt mean it seriously. And you’re wrong I would lol, if it was an Arianna grande fan i’d say the same lol referring to stan culture in general and the tendency of toxic behaviour and mentality coming form it and the support a lot of people get within their stan communities.
