Thank you for asking :) It is absolutely real. The transition from tailbone/hip-length to midback has been a very real (albeit gradual) process for me. Nothing fictional or staged about it. ✨ Of course, i do spend time musing about shorter styles too. 😊 I suppose that's part of the whole 'exploring the path to shorter hair' process... But nothing too drastic; mainly just gathering inspiration for possible future styles. 🤩

Have you ever been tempted to do a drastic haircut rather than the slow approach you have taken?

Yes, i’ve been tempted... in a way. I mean, it’s hard not to be, with all the incredible transformations people share online. 😊 But ‘drastic’ is such a subjective term. For the longest time, i considered anything more than a 1-inch trim to be wildly bold...! So, in a way, i’ve already crossed into ‘drastic’ territory by my own standards. 😄 That said, if we’re talking about the kind of extremely drastic that some on this platform imagine - then no, i haven’t been thát tempted. 🙃

Reflecting on 2024: A Year of Midback-Length (and Bob Obsession…)

Well, 2024 has come and gone, and if i had to sum it up in hair terms, it was undeniably the year of midback-length. Technically still quite long, but so much easier than the super-long hair of my past. ✨ It’s been the perfect length to enjoy 'shorter' hair without fully committing to something drastic. 😌

Did i go shorter? No... 🫣 Did i think about it, while spending countless hours admiring pictures of bob cuts…? Constantly!!! 😅 But in true me fashion, i embraced the 'let’s just keep pondering for now' approach... No rush - just enjoying the journey... And honestly, midback has been such a sweet spot, my ultimate comfort zone.

I stayed fairly consistent with my plan for micro trims every 6-8 weeks (because, healthy ends, obviously ✂️✨). That is, until life decided to shake things up in the second half of the year, and my trims became a little less regular. As a result, my hair’s grown a bit more than i intended. A trim is definitely on the horizon.

And bobs...? Oh, my love for them has only deepened...! 😍 Every sleek cut, every blunt edge - it’s pure art. The more i immerse myself in their beauty, the more i’m convinced: a bob is truly a masterpiece. Yes, a Master’s piece, if you will... 😇

So, all in all, 2024 was a year of steady trims, a deepening appreciation for midback-length, and an ever-growing bob obsession... Nothing drastic, just enjoying where i am, while keeping those shorter styles as my ongoing source of inspiration. 🌟🙏

Yes, some people have noticed and commented, but only the more observant ones. The change has been gradual enough that most haven’t really picked up on it - unless i pull out a photo from a couple of years ago 😄

Do you enjoy cutting your hair? Is there a sense of satisfaction seeing and hearing the scissors snip through another couple of inches of hair and watching it fall to the floor?

Did it feel strange when you realised that there were people online interested in seeing you cut your hair shorter? Has anyone irl ever expressed the same kind of interest?

No, it didn’t feel strange 🙂 If it had, i probably wouldn’t have started documenting it online 😄 It’s kind of fun that something as simple as a haircut can spark so much interest... People might be intrigued for all sorts of reasons, and that’s perfectly fine - it adds to the whole experience. In real life, though, it’s a bit of a different dynamic. Which i appreciate in its own way 😌
