how did sammy get into hacking / technology?

sammy grew up basically with devices in front of her and a natural itch for engineering. she loved taking apart everything she could get her hands on to see how it ticked, and then she could meticulously put it back together like nothing had ever happened. when that started to transfer into the devices she had, she started to realize that she could do that internally just as she could externally.

it started off being simple, a party trick almost amongst her group of friends. she'd ask them a few simple questions, start keying into her computer, and boom! she was in whatever social media site they had challenged her to hack. people truly were idiots with their log in information, including the higher elites like her parents and other conglomerates. the ten security questions you're given? it's mostly information that sammy can look up in a google search or two - your elementary school, the first street you grew up on, and jesus christ, people love to post about their pets - living and deceased. it was nothing to start wiring money into her secret accounts - a few thousand here, a few thousand there, nothing anyone with enough money would miss.

hacking is like solving a puzzle to sammy, and the satisfaction that comes with solving that puzzle is a high that no drug can touch.

have you thought about sammy's family , as far as like her parents go ? does she have any siblings ( if she does where does she fall ? have things always been distant between them or was there a time she was closer to them?

joey is right. sammy did grow up in wealth. her dad was one of the suits that produced the next and greatest piece of technologies for consumers across the world, and her mom was an aspiring actress. aspiring is the key word. getting pregnant wasn't part of the plan, and it was the reason that her parents got married and the reason her mom ended up staying home to raise her for the first few years of her life. they didn't want kids, and sammy was pretty damn sure they didn't want to get married either.

sammy doesn't have any siblings for this reason, and she was left mainly to her own devices since her mom didn't want to be a proper parent. her mom's done a little acting here and there, her longest stint being on a soap opera that old ladies watch, but other than that, sammy was often reminded that she was the thing that held her back.

so, the minute sammy turned eighteen, she got her own place and started getting into full time hacking, which i will go into in my next response. :)
