i think muu herself has never experienced real friendship and thus sees it as something very transactional by nature. like, haruka isn't someone who would care about material items but that seems to be how she's trying to garner his loyalty. because it's the only way she knows how. of course, that isn't to excuse her behavior but i just think she isn't well socialized (which is...fitting considering she's a parallel to fuuta.) like...not only does she say some very socially inept things (it seems like she sort of just blurts out whatever is in her head with no filter) but she's also just very emotionally immature. i do think she sometimes plays up her pitifulness for sympathy (a childish and learned behavior that was probably inadvertently encouraged by her parents - who seem to spoil her) but also she just seems like she cries easily when scared or upset by things. this behavior has gone unpunished until recently - when she became the victim of bullying.

very interesting point i saw someone bring up about muu's birthday art having the cake they use in this "king for a day" tradition (as well as the beans in question greatly resembling the larvaes she eats in inmf) it's horrifically fitting thinking about how muu was never truly the "queen bee" she thought she was and was cast aside when they couldn't stand her anymore, when the cons of her behavior outweighed her usefulness in their eyes. they were letting her play at being leader while undermining her the entire time.

" she answers, nonchalant; like he'd asked what she thought of the weather. her voice comes honey sweet despite the flippant way she smiles. muu drops a hand into his hair, pats him like one would a child or a dog. there, there. this is usually enough to keep him happy. she knows haruka pretty well by now. isn't she such a great friend ?

also adding onto that, the way she treats haruka, showering him in gifts i mean, really shows her warped view of friendship. i'm not saying shes overly generous or especially kind or anything, but she measures her value in materialism. "people will listen to me if i give them things" basically

i need to compile all of muu's "cannot read the room/extremely socially inept" moments bc it speaks so much to her character. i still haven't fully gauged the reason she was turned on by her friends but i feel like they just got really sick of her spoiled attitude and inability to keep snide comments to herself. (forever laughing at her being like "youre being really weird did you hit your head or something? oh wait you actually did" to fuuta) but i suspect they were kind of using her anyway because she was rich and we saw she was giving away her belongings to them in after pain text convos
