Hello again!! I am THRILLED to say that Fall Into You is now available for preorder (US/UK)!!
Like... very, very freshly available for preorder. Like, soooo freshly available for preorder that not all of it is actually ready yet. The STORY is ready, naturally, but (and this may shock you) the cover is NOT going to be simple text on a white background! A very talented artist is in fact working hard on it as I type this, and I can't wait to show it to you when it's done 💜
Some things you can expect to see from me in the next few weeks in addition to that COVER REVEAL: a post about PROCESS and HOW THIS HAPPENED (spoilers: the answer is 'with a lot of help from very talented people,' including an incredibly kind developmental editor who gave me some WILDLY valuable insight I'd love to share with all of you; also, I HIGHLY recommend being married to a gifted editor if you can manage it tbqh); a few EXCERPTS from Fall Into You, so you can get a sense of Will and Casey, my best/worst boys; proooobably some other stuff too. But for now, here's a little summary of the book to get things rolling:
Nearly twenty years ago, Will Robertson ran out on his destiny, leaving his family farm and everything he was supposed to become behind. So when he's forced back to small-town Glenriver, Ohio and finds the farm's irritatingly handsome manager Casey Reeves living more happily in his childhood home than he ever did, it's only natural that they hate each other immediately.
Will's plan is simple: sell his late father's apple farm and get back to his carefully constructed life in Chicago. But when a collapsed bridge strands him in Glenriver with Casey, "simple" goes right out the window – along with Will's determination to keep his distance from both his past and the man right in front of him.
Between corporate vultures circling, long-buried family secrets coming to light, and the undeniable spark growing between them, Will and Casey will have to decide if some things really are worth fighting for… and if two people who seem totally wrong for each other might actually be exactly right.
You can PREORDER Fall Into You here in the US (or here in the UK)! I promise that if you do, you won't have to wait too long to read -- the book is slated be out June 18th 😄 It turns out preorders are WILDLY important in terms of how well a book does and how many people end up reading it, so any at all are so appreciated 💜

HELLO TUMBLR 👋 i am ENORMOUSLY excited to say: i've written a book! and i'm writing two more! and they're all queer romcoms! and the first one, FALL INTO YOU, will be out in JUNE. there is a LOT of my heart in this novel, and i absolutely can't wait to share it with you 💜
if you've ever enjoyed my fanfic, particularly stories like What We Pretend We Can't See and I've Got Nothing to Do Today But Smile, then you'll love FALL INTO YOU. it's full of ROMANCE and JOKES but also REAL, MESSY PEOPLE with PROBLEMS and TRAUMA, because those are the stories i love telling! it's chock full of things i adore: set on an APPLE FARM in NORTHEAST OHIO, main characters who hate each other more or less immediately, gratuitous depictions of food, and they were ROOMMATES?, people healing wounds they didn't even know were still open, AND MORE.
i'll be sharing more about this book in the weeks to come (i promise i will try so hard not to be obnoxious about it 🫡 ), and about the next two as we get closer to publication! but until then, i just want to say: the fic stays UP and the author stays GRATEFUL, always. i am honored and humbled by your readership, and really proud of the work i've done for and with fandom, and that's not a tune you're ever going to see me change.
okay, thanks so much for reading!! hope you're all well; i'll just be here having one of the coolest and most surreal days of my life 😂👋💜

there’s a bit in pratchett’s going postal where someone accuses the protagonist of indirectly causing 2.338 statistical deaths. recently it’s made me wonder, did pterry ever think about the lives he saved, himself? the people pulled out of the dark by his writing, in the same kind of fractions and possibilities? the people who survived by kindness that was only offered because he made each of us a little bit better?
he saved a piece of my life. without discworld, i would have been a little less likely to have made it this far. we talk about how he’s not really dead while his name’s still spoken, and a lot of the time we reference that same book when we do. but he’s alive in so much more than that. there’s a bit of his voice in every breath i take, because i don’t know for certain i’d be taking it if not for him.
and i think… don’t we all have that power? maybe the world would be a better place if we all understood that one well-placed kindness is all it takes to save a piece of a life.

that thing where there’s absolutely no way for you to be trans and talk about That Author and the unrelenting avalanche of horrors in a normal way, so you spend two years writing this weird piece called “POV: you are two raccoons in a trench coat, both of whom are trans” instead 🫠
