HI ANON
Thank you for stopping by my inbox. 🥰🥰🥰
Okay so that icon corresponds to fics that make me think "writer goals" and there are three so... I'll list three fics that blew me away. Problem is if you're been around the Inuyasha fandom for a minute you've likely already read them... 🤣🤣🤣 1. Light Me a Lantern by Inuyasha's Forest/Novaviis. A little bit about my background... lol I got into fan fiction when I was in law school and wanted to fucking die 🤣🤣🤣 I can't tell you how I came across it but I can tell you I read the entire thing (all that had been published at that time) while listening to one song on repeat because I didn't want anything to distract me from the story. My eyes burned. My body was mad at me but my soul was fed. Great fucking story. I dream of writing something so captivating, creative, and beautiful.
2. The Half-Breed's Wife by Gypsyn. Another fic that kept me sane during law school. I loved it the moment I started it and I think about this fic all the fucking time. 🤣🤣🤣 It's one that I go back to over and over because the author has sucked me in and I don't want to get out.
3. Last, but nowhere near least, I would be lying if I omitted @witchygirl99 from my list of #writergoals. lol I'm just going to tag her as a person and author because, similar to both Novaviis and Gypsyn, I discovered her stories when I was in a self-imposed hell. I can't tell you which story of Witchy's that I read first but I can tell you that I have never been disappointed. lol I'm a sucker for enemies to lovers so Pennies and Dimes brought life to my veins, Tell Me I'm Crazy makes me fucking giddy, and Deductions blew my mind away. So... if you haven't read Witchy yet idk what you're doing with your life but stop denying yourself because I promise she's got at least one story you'll love to pieces (or you'll just be an all around simp like I am). 🤣🤣🤣

I am slightly obsessed with "adopt the stray" trope fics. That is, fics in which (usually but not always) Kagome takes in a homeless Inuyasha. They give me ALL THE FEELZ!
Do you have recs? (Inu taking in Kagome similarly also appreciated!) ♥️♥️♥️
Hi @neutronstarchild, thank you for your ask!
We will admit, this was a toughy, but we took it two ways for our fic recommendations. We have some that are homeless Inuyasha, but also some that are literal adopt the stray stories. Some are quite angsty, but so so good.
As always, we may include some of the requestors own stories, because these are a resource for others who may be looking for similar styles!
Mocha Latte by KittyKatz
Caged Blood by @neutronstarchild, @fawn-eyed-girl and @ruddcatha
The Half Demon Prince and the Curse of the Four Paws by @neutronstarchild
Forever Home by Kittykatz
No Place Like Home/For Us by GuardianKarenTerrier
Magic Cat by Lord Wolfe
A Home For Inuyasha by QueenKami
The Savant by F0stedFLAKES
Possession by @splendentgoddess
The Doghouse by Auroras-Flame
The Heiress and the Stray by Gypsyn
Always There by Lil-Yasha (bring Tissues... you have been advised)
And a bonus Doujinishi adopt the stray that is adorable:
Growing Up by @britonell
We hope you enjoy these!

Hi guys!
I'm finally back at it with writing again!
My list of excuses for disapearing:
I was getting pretty burned out when I first stepped back, and then covid happened and I had a small child all over me 24/7 until we could finally get him into kindergarten. During that, we had a big move to a new house in a new town, etc etc
Basically, I was a mixture of mentally exhausted and living with barely enough personal time to go to the bathroom by myself let alone sit down in quiet and write something.
Well, we settled into the new house, my son is in kindergarten (not for long summer is coming up. Siiigh) and my husband's busy work schedule is about to finally slow down.
So I've come back to one of my favorite hobbies, writing FLUFF.
'The Half Breed's Wife' has a new chapter out on AO3 (I'm posting everything new there from now on.)
And I dropped a new story today 'The Dog Prince'
If you like the half breeds wife, you will probably like this one too.

Wildflowers
Even in the deepest parts of the city’s largest parks, the smell of flowers was never this sweet, she realized. It might have been because wildflower fields were hard to find, but she didn’t dwell too long on the idea. Lounging comfortably on her back, her head rested on Inuyasha’s thigh, Kagome took a deep breath, holding in the air, trying to get the wildflowers’ scent to permanently imprint on to her lungs.
“I’ll hold you up by your ankles and shake you until you start breathing again.”
His threat was empty, and Kagome knew that. But the sternness in his voice ignited a fire of laughter from her stomach. Coughing from choking on the air from her sudden laughter, Kagome sat up and gasped loudly.
“I’ll hold you up to make you start breathing normally again, too.”
Kagome shook her hand in his direction, covering her mouth and contorting her face from the effort of resetting her breathing. After she caught her breath, she finally let out the laugh that had tried to escape earlier.
Turning around on her bottom and facing her companion, Kagome leaned on her left hand, placing her right hand on her hip. “Look what you did.”
“I didn’t do anything. You’re the one who wasn’t breathing.”
Kagome shook her finger at him in a mocking threat, before shifting to lie back down, but this time on her side. He retaliated by wiggling the leg she had rested her head on up and down. Kagome rolled over to look at him, snorting humorously at how his profile was distorted by the movement of her head.

For Her
Inspired by this post.
———-
“Hey, hon!”
“Hi. Sorry for calling so late.” Her voice was soft, wavering through the receiver. Sango’s brows scrunched together slightly as her smile quickly wilted away.
“What’s wrong?”
“Can you come pick me up?” Kagome asked. There was a muffled sniffle, one Sango could tell was intentionally done away from the cell held in Kagome’s palm.
“What happened?” She asked more directly, perking up straight in the padded kitchen chair she’d claimed. Inuyasha and Miroku slowly placed their cards facedown on the dining room table, their attention shifting fully to Sango’s call, the half demon’s lips slowly parting in what was simple to see was building concern. She stood from her seat and quickly headed to the opposite end of the living room for a smidge of privacy, keeping her back to the two men as if it were equivalent to a sturdy border. The silence on the line was clenching at Sango’s chest, nervousness beginning to leak through as nothing continued to be said. “Kagome?”
“I’m at the bus stop on Ninety-fourth and Carlton.”
“Kagome, what’s going on?!” Sango urged, making sure to keep her tone hushed.
“I - I was - I was mugged.” She answered. She almost seemed embarrassed.
“What? Are you okay!?”
“I’m fine.” It was smooth. Convincing. “Can you please-”

References and other details in Inuyasha
So people liked this Inuyasha post about PDA in Japan, as well as this post about (90s) Japanese culture in anime. Now, there are certain things anime/manga seem to overlook for artistic reasons, and a lot of cultural things that get taken for granted by the Japanese audience and subsequently never get explained. Although I’d like to think that everything would be covered by wikipedia and online forums, I figured there are always references that can be addressed, especially for new fans who didn’t grow up in the 90s.
Nostalgia~
But let us remember this old disclaimer: I was born at the tail end of the Japanese bubble economy, when video calls on our flip phones were ultramodern but laggy, and few believed the entire JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series would get animated. Things have changed, yo.
So without further ado, here’s some details from the manga known as Inuyasha.
…using anime gifs to distract you from your chores again!

Hey! Do you have any advice for writing about really young children and babies?
TIPS ON HOW TO WRITE YOUNG CHILDREN AND BABIES
Babies (Ages 0-1)
Babies usually learn how to sit up at 4 to 7 months, to crawl at about 7 to 10 months, to stand up at 9 to 10 months, and to walk at 9 to 12 months. Babies can learn to talk as early as 6 months, though they only start to form two to four word sentences from 18 months to 2 years old.
Babies are cute little bundles of joy that lighten up the entire household, though they do have their moments.
My biggest pet peeve about people who write babies into their stories is that they only concentrate on the cons. The baby is always crying and annoying the characters, who make snide remarks about how they wish it would shut up.
The writers set it up so that the baby sounds like more of a burden than anything else, and unless your other characters don’t want the baby and feel like it is a burden, then I highly suggest you switch it up and describe the happy moments that the characters have with their babies, too.
They don’t just cry because they’re hungry or need to have their diaper changed.
Contrary to popular belief, whenever a baby cries it does not mean that it needs to be fed or that it has pooped itself. Babies cry over all sorts of things because they literally have no other way to communicate when they’re unhappy.
They cry when they’re tired.
They cry when they’re left alone. (Separation anxiety is very prevalent in babies, who feel afraid and unsafe whenever their guardians are not with them
They cry when they’re frustrated and can’t do the things that their parents and siblings can do.
They cry when they’re scared.
They cry when they are left with the parent that isn’t their favorite. (This usually happens to dads when the babies are left in their care)
This may sound annoying, but babies are just trying to make it known that they’re unhappy. They can’t say “Hey, I’m upset, can you help me?” so their only other option is to cry. Since they’re young, these things that are happening to them are the WORST things they’ve ever experienced. When a baby throws a fit over a broken toy or separation anxiety, that’s probably because it’s the scariest and most heartbreaking thing that has ever happened to them!
They need constant love, care, and attention.
This is literally a young human person. They’re just as aware and alert as you and I, and they need constant stimulation to keep happy. Parents really have it cut out for them; they have to raise this little human larva into a fully grown homo sapien that will function well in society, and in order to do that they have to provide a lot of TLC to make sure the baby’s mind develops correctly.
A lot of parents in stories don’t do this; they only give their baby attention when it’s crying and I can’t help but think: that’s not??? How it works????
Things that parents do for their children to help them develop:
Read books
Sing songs
Play with toys with them
Play games like peek-a-boo and patty cake
Put on music
Put on educational TV and movies (Though they shouldn’t do this too often!)
Simply be around them
Parents should not leave the baby alone for extended periods of time.
This is a given. Babies can get themselves into a lot of trouble: They can roll of couches, touch hot or sharp objects, and eat things that they shouldn’t. Babies have to be under constant supervision, and it gets me really annoyed when characters in stories leave their child unattended for a long time.
Babies need a lot of equipment, which can include:
- Crib
- Bib
- Pacifier/Binky
- Bottle and formula (If parents don’t breastfeed)
**FYI babies on formula or breast milk need to be burped after they’re fed because they swallow air and can have gas buildup within their stomach and intestines. Some babies need to be burped a lot, while others don’t; it all depends on the baby, though bottle fed babies tend to swallow more air than breastfed ones.**
- Blankets and mats to lie on
- Toys (LOTS of them!)
- High chair
- Baby friendly food (for older babies that are off formula, which occurs after the sixth month mark), which can include actual baby food, Cheerios, fruit that is cut into small pieces, animal crackers, and anything that can be eaten with fingers that can’t be choked on.
The parents, if they’re caring ones, are always thinking about the baby.
This is especially if they’re first time parents. Babies are a BIG DEAL, and they become the most important things in their parents’ lives. They’re always thinking about the baby and can tend to worry a LOT when they’re separated from them. They take many precautions, such as baby-proofing the house, to keep their little ones safe, and most parents would take a bullet for their baby.
If the parents in your story don’t fret over their baby at least once, then you’re writing baby parents wrong.
Toddlers (Ages 2-5)
Many important milestones in a human’s life happen during these critical years. They start forming complete sentences and developing social skills. They learn that to get what they want they don’t just have to cry; they can communicate in other ways, though sometimes they take to crying if they don’t get their way.
Toddlers can be marginally more worrisome than babies; they’re mobile now, so they can now reach higher and move around faster than their younger counterparts. Their crying no longer is cute, but rather more annoying now that they’re older and are starting to develop their personalities, and there’s a reason why they’re called “The terrible twos”
Toddlers are just like upgraded babies that need most of the things babies do but can now communicate, walk, and eat real food.
However, the most important thing writers should know: TODDLERS ARE NOT SAGES
They should not be spouting deep, philosophical life lessons at every turn; that aspect of children that’s been developed in books, about how they “know things” just because they’re young and innocent, is completely false. One or two meaningful lines should be fine, but remember that they’re still kids; they like talking about dinosaurs, superheroes, princesses, animals, and trucks, and 98% of their dialogue should merely be them being a kid.
Hope this helped!

Hi! I just found your story on Ao3- The Half Breed's Wife! It's lovely. I love the dynamic you have between Kagome and Inuyasha! Sweet, and worried, but also with that air of mystery. The cliff hanger though!!! Is it Naraku? Sesshomaru??? It's such a good story though, and I hope you have time and inspiration to continue it!
Thank you! I’m glad you like it so far. I made a huge breakthrough recently so hopefully I’ll get the next chapter out soon.
