Water Hunting: Trout Fishing and How To Do It Well
All fish have their special attributes that you’ll be smart to learn about. Why is this so? Because knowledge is power and the more you know about the habits of a particular fish, the better chances you have to outwit them. Trout are very smart and it’s almost imperative that you know how they act and what they like. If you don’t learn anything about trout and how they act, you won’t have much success. You can’t just use generic techniques on trout. To help you get started correctly with trout fishing, here are three important tips you can use.
One of the most difficult things for trout fishermen who have little experience is having where the trout like to consort. Another option for gaining wisdom is to figure out the function that the temperature of the water plays. Unlike other types of fish, trout demand a greater amount of dissolved oxygen in the water. Surface action and the temperature of the water have a lot of responsibility, in regards to the dissolved oxygen concentration. Brown and rainbow are examples of trout that will put up with elevated water temperatures, as long as they can get the amount of oxygen they require. Search for spots that have a moving current, if the water is warmer. You can generally find ripples and commotion that happen because of the moving current. These fishing holes will have a greater amount of oxygen concentration and maybe even the kind of trout you’re after.
And this is about maintaining your tackle and gear in proper shape and condition. Best Practices is the name by which this collection of information is known. Following them will help ensure the enjoyability of your fishing trips. Memorize these following guidelines well, until they are habitual. Before you head out for your fishing trip, go through your tackle box and check all your hooks and line. Sharpen your hooks. Your knots and lines need to be checked for wear or any weak spots Retie any knots as necessary. Replace the places in your line that appear weak. Your setup is only as strong as its weakest link. You could lose the biggest trout you’ve ever landed by not paying attention to this small task.
You need more than two hands many times when you’re out on the water, so you will benefit from getting equipment to take care of that. Bags and anything that you can attach to yourself will obviously be better since it’s more convenient. You can very easily scare the fish right out of your area by splashing around with traveling back to the side of the stream just to fetch something. If you are not aware of trout and fish senses, then you have to learn because it’s critical. Visit hunting Georgia for more information.
Remember that with trout fishing there’s no need to spend a lot of cash to get yourself on the way. But you need to invest some time reading about how to fish for trout. There are some things you are guaranteed to have no idea about. And when you learn the basics, your confidence will soar.

Set Up Your Vehicle for Your Next Holiday Break
Who wouldn’t dream of a grand vacation driving across the country? No matter if you want to go on a trip by yourself, or with a friend or with your family, a long-distance road trip, could be in your future. Preparing just isn’t part of some folk’s nature – they just jump in their cars and go. However your adventure might be more pleasurable if you make some plans before you get started. Not to be prepared for the many things that could happen while on vacation can be a big mistake.
Before leaving, check to see that your car’s upkeep is up to date – this can help avoid lots of potential problems. Be sure your oil has been just recently changed, and check your tires and battery. Get your destination and route of your trip planned out, so that you know where you will be all of the time. Scheduling your overnite stops and checking for road construction trouble can help a lot, too. If you might be planning any off road excursions, be certain and have maps for those areas. If you know your location and where you’re going, you’ll make much better decisions every step of the way. It appears to be pretty obvious to be attentive, but most accidents are caused by the inattention of drivers. You’ll have a terrific time and a wonderful holiday if you’ve planned adequately and stay focused when driving.
Talking on a cellular phone at the inappropriate time is not good, but it would be a lifesaver, if anything ever happens, such as an accident. Just be certain it is working and in easy reach. Phones cause accidents when being used in the car, but they’re invaluable to have if you have car trouble. Seatbelts are also a major lifesaver, and are required by most states, so use yours. You’ll also want to guard against theft. Employ steering wheel locking devices, switches that turn off the fuel system or ignition systems and have electronic tracking devices, and criminals will be deterred.
Should you have an accident then carry out whatever necessary to protect your family, and keep your car from further damage. Attempt to move your vehicle out from traffic, and be sure and turn it off to keep it from overheating and catching fire. Also be sure and strive to signal oncoming traffic and, finally, be sure and contact your insurance company on the spot. In case your insurance coverage is not paid up and current, don’t even leave home.
Additionally, it is extremely essential that all your insurance papers actually be with you in your car. Nobody goes on a trip expecting to be in an accident, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be prepared just in case.

Camping Trip: Getting Back To The Fundamentals
For countless folks camping means bringing along all of the modern technologies that they have when they’re at home, but this isn’t truly camping. When I was a kid camping suggested going out in a tent and roughing it, but right now individuals wanna take RV’s and make sure that they have electricity before they go camping. One more thing I should point out is that a lot of individuals nowadays will even bring along a motorboat so they’re able to spend their time skiing and maybe even do some fishing. As you continue to read this article you are going to learn that many of the amenities you bring with you into the woods can wind up hurting the environment which is why they ought to be left at home when going camping.
The very first thing many men and women do not realize is that an RV can end up using four or five times the amount of gas to get to your location than a traditional automobile. If you actually wanna get the most out of your camping trip it is important to realize that not only will a tent give you a more rugged feeling, driving an automobile to the campsite will reduce pollution. If you wish to develop memories for your family, you’re going to find that setting up tents for everybody is something which your children and you’ll wind up remembering for a really long time. In order to go on a camping trip you don’t have to take an RV, and this will be the very best way to create lasting memories.
One more thing plenty of folks always try and do is to ensure that their campsite will have electricity in order to make things easier. One thing you need to remember about camping is that it is meant to pull families together of course, if everyone has their faces buried in a laptop, where’s the family time? Truth be told your friends on face book are going to be able to get by without you updating your page, and sitting by the fire and also talking at night can end up being far more fun. Another thing you need to be aware of is that because you can actually not use electricity on a camping trip, this is something that will have a beneficial affect in the world.
I can realize the urge for individuals to want to bring a motorboat with them on a camping trip however you will probably find that you could have just as much fun by leaving it at home. Instead of bringing a motorboat with you you need to think about bringing a rowboat or even a few canoes for both you and your family. Something you may possibly or might not be aware of is the fact that a motorboat will end up polluting the water supply with gas and oil whenever you use it.
For the individuals who take pleasure in camping and going back to the basics while doing it, you are going to see that this is something which can have a beneficial affect on our world. For people who believe it would be way too boring to go camping with just your family there’s no reason you can’t asked other friends to join you on this venture.

Decoys.
Making sounds and calls don’t grab the Deer’s attention. It gets scared very easily. However sounds such as imitating the sound of antlers hustle in the grass can draw the attention of the Deer. Employing a decoy is quite a tactic to attract a Deer. It tricks the Deer to thinking the decoy is one among the Deer. When the Deer approaches close, pull the trigger!

Deer’s have excellent hearing and can detect even the slightest movements. Once they escape, it would take a long time for the same deer to come back to the original position. Wearing hunting boots or covering your shoes can eliminate the sound.
When to hunt?
You should know the exact timings as to when a deer can be spotted. Just after sunrise and dusk are the best time for deer hunting. Just after dawn, you are most likely to spot deer near their bedding area. If you spot them to be sleeping, it is even easier to hunt the deer down. Just before Sunset, you can spot deer near the feeding area. A deer, however, can be easily located during their birthing period.
Where to hunt?
Once you set out for 2-3 hunts, you would become familiar with the location the deer would come to bath, food, give birth, mate, defecate etc. Once the Deer’s ideal location is discovered, it is then easier to hunt the deer. Examining the Deer trails and Deer droppings can also help to find the ideal Deer location.

Most of the tribal communities, far from the cities, depend on hunting for their livelihood. They hunt animals not only to protect themselves but also serves as nutrition. Most of the animal skins are used to make dresses.

Snow to Surf – Vancouver’s Alpine Wonderland
Photo: Rob Weiss
It never fails to take my breath away! Every time I leave sea level and venture out to the North Shore Mountains I feel invigorated. Perhaps, the feeling is amplified while alpine skiing. On those perfect days, the sun shines brightly; the air is crisp and the snow sparkles. As I raise the chairlift safety bar, lift my ski tips and prepare to unload, a sheer sense of joy comes over me. Moving away quickly from the unloading area, I begin to anticipate the views, and they never disappoint! Imagine panoramic ocean and city views all from the top of a snow-covered alpine run. Awe-inspiring and breathtaking!

Craving time in the mountains is a common affliction amongst Vancouver snow enthusiasts, myself included. Ask any competent skier or snowboarder, and they will tell you that nothing beats the thrill of fresh POW and first tracks. Fortunately, we are blessed with three local ski mountains all within minutes of the downtown core, offering up unique and varied terrain. From the uninitiated beginner to the seasoned veteran, I am proud to say our local downhill runs promise an adrenaline rush like no other.

Bundle up, wax your skis, grab your helmet and check out Vancouver’s Big Three:
Cypress Mountain
With six chairlifts, 53 runs and 600 acres of skiable terrain Cypress Mountain offers the most vertical drop and perhaps best snow conditions on the North Shore. The official venue for the 2010 Winter Olympic Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding events, Cypress holds in a special place in our hearts. Check out their First Timer’s Guide for everything you need to know to enjoy a day in the snow.
Grouse Mountain
Known as The Peak of Vancouver, Grouse Mountain boasts 33 alpine runs, four chairlifts and six terrain parks. Locals will insist that while testing your skills at Grouse, you must take a run on “the Cut” arguably Vancouver’s most iconic downhill run. While carving your way down the slope the entire city of Vancouver lies below you. Truth be told, I have yet to complete this run, without stopping to savour the scene below.
Mount Seymour
Family owned and operated; Mount Seymour features 80 hectares of terrain. From gentle, beginner slopes to challenging terrain parks tailored made to test advanced riders, there is something for everyone.
Photo: Rob Weiss
All of our local hills feature lessons, rental packages and night skiing options. Beginners are always welcome, but be warned; once you taste the downhill lifestyle you may become hooked! On the off chance that ocean views and alpine thrills are not quite enough for you, consider embracing the apres-ski scene. I could go on, but I would suggest apres-ski is a story for another blog and another day!

Filming in Vancouver: Riverdale spinoff Sabrina the Teenage Witch, UFO series Blue Book, Life Sentence
Kiernan Shipka has been cast as Sabrina the Teenage Witch in a Riverdale spinoff.
Hollywood North fluttered back to life last week, with numerous TV productions getting back on set after holiday hiatuses.
A few more are back to work this week, and a new TV series is wrapping up its inaugural season already.
Here’s a rundown of what’s happening in Vancouver’s screen scene this week.
Riverdale
Everybody’s favourite dark take on a classic teen comic, Riverdale, is back today (January 8) after taking a holiday break that started on December 22.
Archie (KJ Apa) and the gang continue shooting Season 2 until March 21.
Kiernan Shipka
In other Riverdale news, Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men) has been cast in the forthcoming Archie spinoff Netflix series that’ll be a spooky adaptation of Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
It’s described as a far cry from the comedic version that aired from 1996 to 2003 starring Melissa Joan Hart. Instead it will be based on the horror comic Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, involving witchcraft and the occult.
According to IMDb and initial reports, the series will shoot in Vancouver this spring, though dates haven’t been announced yet. It also remains to be seen if Shipka makes any crossover appearances on Riverdale—or vice-versa.
Stay tuned, true Riverdalers.
Will we see Kiernan Shipka appearing on Riverdale? Or will Riverdale cast members appear on the Sabrina spinoff?
Moving on to more paranormal subjects, UFO believers had quite the day in December when former Pentagon official Luis Elizondo, who formerly headed a U.S. government program to research UFOs, implied that there was evidence that alien spacecrafts had visited Earth.
Former U.S. Navy pilot Cmdr. David Fravor followed that revelation up by speaking out about a UFO he witnessed during a routine training mission.
U.S. government officials did confirm that the program, called the Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program, ran from 2007 to 2012.
But did you know that there was another secret U.S. government program to study UFOs called Project Blue Book that started in 1952 and was discontinued in 1969?
Aiden Gillen
Well, you’ll get to know more about it in the near future as the new sci-fi drama TV series Blue Book being shot in Vancouver is based on that earlier program.
It started filming on December 6, gets back into production on Wednesday (January 10) after a holiday season break, and continues until April 24.
Aiden Gillen (Game of Thrones) stars as astrophysicist Josef Allen Hynek who is recruited by the government to become the chief scientific advisor of a top-secret UFO investigation program.
Lucy Hale
Meanwhile, another new TV series is finishing up its first season this week.
Life Sentence, which just resumed production after a holiday hiatus, wraps up shooting Season 1 on Friday (January 12). The TV series began filming on August 9.
Most people might think that finding out that you’ve been cured of terminal cancer would be the most positive news in the world. But this dramedy series puts a spin on that by exploring what happens when a young woman (Lucy Hale) has to face the longterm consequences of what happened when she lived as if she were dying and she discovers what her family hid from her as they helped her through what they thought were her final days.
The cast includes Elliot Knight (Once Upon A Time), Dylan Walsh (Nip/Tuck), Gillian Vigman (The Hangover), Jayson Blair (Whiplash), Brooke Lyons (The Affair), Carlos PenaVega (Big Time Rush), and Riley Smith (Nashville).
The series will premiere on the CW on March 7.
Riley Smith
That’s it for this week’s roundup but there’s plenty more looming on the horizon to chat about in the weeks to come so be sure to check back in with us.

Week-long daytime event presents food truck fare during Dine Out Vancouver

Vancouver’s PuSh International Performing Arts Festival and Pi Theatre Present a Moving Play about Violence and Forgiveness
Image of Luisa Jojic and Douglas Ennenberg by Emily Cooper
A work of theatre is truly exemplary if audience members can leave the performance transformed and inspired to think more deeply about themselves and the world they take for granted.
The Events, a play presented by Pi Theatre and the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival, is particularly timely in the new year, a period characterized by reflection and taking stock of the past.
The production marks the English Canadian premiere of David Greig’s play, The Events, and takes place from January 17 to 28, 2018 at the Russian Hall (600 Campbell Avenue).
Coverage of acts of violence frequently appears in news and social media, provoking considerable distress and questioning on the part of those within and outside of these tragedies. This play is set in the period after the murder of 69 people at a summer camp in Utøya, Norway, in 2011. It was the deadliest attack in Norway since WWII.
Instead of The Events focusing on the horribly violent incident itself, it directs its gaze at the aftermath and the making sense of this tragedy. The story revolves around a main character, Claire (played by Luisa Jojic), who, as a female priest and choirmaster, must grapple with the soul searching and unsettling of faith that come from trying to understand extreme violence. Can she still hold onto a sense of hope of love in the face of such devastation and hate?

The play has been mounted, to audience and critical acclaim, all around the world, such as in Norway, the United States, Australia, and South Africa. Accolades include being The Guardian’s #1 play for 2013, and receiving the Carol Tambor Best of Edinburgh Award and the Scotsman Fringe First.
What makes The Events so compelling on a local level is the inclusion of a different community choir each night on stage, along with Jojic and Douglas Ennenberg, who plays the role of six other characters. Twelve different choirs, composed of over 220 members, will perform songs written for the play (musical score by John Browne), as well as ones that they will have chosen themselves. The singers represent the healing power of music, as well as the larger community dealing with the tragedy.

“Greig daringly explores our destructive desire to comprehend the unfathomable; asking how far forgiveness will stretch in the face of atrocity. He does so in the most brilliant way possible: by building a community every single evening. A choir on one side; an audience on another; each witness to and participant in the struggles of the actors between them,” explains director Richard Wolfe.
What will get created between audience members, actors, and singers will be intense, but also revelatory. A discussion will take place after every performance. VocalEye services will be available for both shows on January 27th.
Tickets and further information can be found on-line.
