BEHIND THE SCENES - by Chogrin

I want to share how this art show and idea got started. I knew I wanted to make the design of the heart in a pixel by pixel format. I decided the best way was to make a 12" x12″ grid in Adobe Illustrator. 

I then colored in the pixels I didn’t need in a different color until I got the Pixel Heart shape I was happy with and that gave the artist the most area to do their artwork on.

I then combined all the pixels into one shape and made it all one color so I could do a mock-up and send to Prints on Wood for reproduction on wood.

I did this quick mock-up by using the 3D filter in illustrator with a wood clipping-mask texture for a preview of what the finished product might look like.

These were the first pictures I got back from Prints on Wood. These canvases were then shipped for the artists to work on.
