Are you by any chance a White person? Honestly, it doesn't matter because I'm going to talk about the broader flaw that some White people are making when it comes to discourse about this case as of 2025 April 21st, or the day before, when you posted your post. Usually in racially-charged stories especially killings between a White person and a Black person in America, you have some Black people defending the Black person (whether the Black person was the one killed or was the killer claiming self-defense), you have some "White conservatives" saying that the White person was not in the wrong, and "White liberals" who advocate that the Black side of the argument may have a case of their fellow Black person being a victim of murder / a victim of violence that necessitated self-defense and that this Black person deserves justice and accountability from being killed / a fair shot at a self-defense case. Well, most White "liberals" just cannot argue self-defense for the killer who is Black, in this situation so far. As much as they may want to express pro-Black sentiment, sentiment of being an antiracist ally for Black people to show that Black people deserve equal justice and legal representation, they haven't found any evidence that Karmelo Anthony was legally or morally justified in using the knife in the way that he did. Black people, a lot of them, everyday people, not just YouTube channel/social media grifters or Russian bots, are simping big time for Karmelo Anthony. They do NOT have extra information that White allies for Black people, somehow don't have. That's why "it has nothing to do with race" is bullshit. Black people, and not a small percentage, know damn well it is about race and are embracing it. I've seen plenty of Internet profiles with Black faces (assuming those photos are actually them) saying that all the current signs point to Anthony being a murderer, but they are nowhere near an overwhelming majority. It's only "not about race" to YOU because YOU can't defend Karmelo's actions. If it is simply because you "don't know all the facts so you cannot condemn nor defend Karmelo's actions either way, only that it is a tragedy that this happened", you can already see in the discourse that Black people have access to the exact same "not all the facts known yet" and are clearly engaged in tribalism choosing to make this very much about race. And here you are bitching about "White supremacy" and J6ers for some reason because a small gaggle of White people showed up. Who there is saying that Whites are supreme over all other racial groups? At first I was confused as to why this story became so big. The USA a big country with over 300 million people, over 40 million are Black and nearly 200 million are White, sometimes Black individuals make horrible decisions and most the time the victim is also Black, sometimes the victim is White. If it's true that, adjusted for racial demographic population differences or unadjusted, that Black-on-White violence is significantly more common than White-on-Black violence, then okay, that's something we hear about a lot, but a lot of far-right people just see that as a fact of life, but why is this particular case getting so much attention? Other than the killed person and the killer both being only 17 years old, I think the reason why this has become a national story and not just something whipped up by the "right-wing" bubble, is because people are starting to see the sheer disturbing extent that ordinary Blacks are downright simping for Karmelo Anthony and celebrating that "white boy" dying. It is objectively what is happening and it's demonstrating the myth that Black people simply wanting equal justice, represents the vast majority of Black people. We want to believe that most Black people just want a fair day in court whether they are the accused or are the victims of crime and violence, but that "most" ain't nearly as big as we idealistically want it to be.

I need to speak up on something that’s really been bothering me, and even though I don’t think it’s going to make much of a difference, I still have to say something.

Around less than a month ago, Austin Metcalf was stabbed by Karmelo Anthony at a Frisco ISD track meet. Karmelo was quickly arrested and put into jail for a million dollar bond. Both were 17.

I live in Frisco. I graduated from a Frisco high school last year and my younger siblings currently attend Frisco schools. Unfortunately, there are now white supremacists in my town.

I’m beyond mortified. These are January 6th-ers all the way from Florida coming into MY town, screaming that we “need to protect white lives!” protesting at a high school. This wasn’t even a race problem to begin with. Karmelo stabbed Austin because Austin wouldn’t give up his seat. Simple as that!!

I usually never bring up the “it’s not about race” card because it breeds the potential for white supremacy and ignorance of actual racsim, but this genuinely had nothing to do with race. I’ve talked to these high schoolers and all they want is to be left alone and grieve in peace. Frisco wants to grieve in peace.

But now we have Floridians coming to our town and spreading their white supermacy. Get your filthy hands off our town and leave us the fuck alone.

I think we should pass a law stating that unless you've actually read what was written about "Separation of Church and State" and pass a short quiz about it, you can no longer bring it up in an argument.

This should indicate that these different sea creature species are self-evidently not an allegory for human nations or ethnic groups. I'm sorry to anyone who liked it, but Ruby Gillman Teenage Kraken was an empty shell of a film that cribbed hard on Luca and Turning Red, with a tacked on DreamWorks Dance party at the end.

I hate this movie, it's by far not the worst thing I've seen, the animation is STELLAR, but it just felt SOULLESS. THAT... and how they seriously try to say the ENTIRE Mermaid race is evil, just because the Krakens(a.k.a. the WINNERS of the war) said so is a REALLY messed up message.

If I understand you correctly, it is nice to see someone who isn't whining about the fact that the mermaid character is a treacherous siren like they have been throughout most of human storytelling, and a manipulative narcissist and all that. The movie showed this in the trailer that people complained was a "spoiler" like most movies with straightforward villains, show who the villain is in the marketing. People are judging it for their galaxybrained takes on their arbitrary ideas for what the story should be about, instead of judging the story for how it executes what it is.

Lots more was done in response to the death of George Floyd that just "changing the name on pancake boxes and syrup bottles" and America is a less safe place because of it. Violent criminals (especially Black ones) in America are more mollycoddled than ever, out of an enforcement of "anti-racist" policies which are basically policies of giving criminals free reign to terrorize American citizens solely because the criminals are disproportionately Black and punishing Black people in any capacity is always Systemic Oppression™!. The end result is, we have more innocent victims of violent crime (especially other Black people as victims).
