so a funny bit of futurama didn't care about the dates at all, they have amy being an employee of planet express since she was 13/12 xD (which does not work with other bits of canon) but does make us think that they wanted amy to start college earlier so i've decided 16.

cause they have her being employee of the month in 2992 which ... given the show starts in 3000 she is 20/21 at the time of the first episode and she's an engineering student sooooo the next time she's employee of the month is 2997 which would make her 18 which is accurate but you would not give a first year college student that intern ship so i think it works.
