–I went for quality on this one. These tracks are all silky. I had to make up for missed songs, and I was in the mood to do a 76’er…listened to this today, and it sounds very nice
Enjoy…Chris Davis…(8/2/05)

We shall all be healed
Has anyone ever smoked a few bowls and driven around listening to we shall all be healed and reminiscing about that part of your life in which uppers played a significant role, even up until two weeks ago when you did a set of standup on 120 millligrams of extended release Adderall eaten throughout the day and a pot cookie before your set? After the set of comedy I did, I texted people that I hadn't talked to in months to say that it was my best set of comedy ever and that I felt like Lenny Bruce. I got high today and listened to we shall be healed in my car and then a comedian facebook messaged me asking if I want to be on a comedy show tomorrow, so of course I said yes because it is really hard for me to get booked on shows. He only booked me because his original choice for fourth comic dropped out, but still I am thrilled to be doing my first paid comedy show since Halloween.

emotionally manipulative people will drop you so quickly once they realize they won’t have all the control. once they realize that you’ll call them out on their shit and that you won’t just allow them to treat you like garbage willingly, all of a sudden it’s you and your behavior that’s “crazy”, etc.

The sads
I’m sober today, well I mean I smoked a little weed several hours ago but I’m sober now. I am incredibly upset about my recent breakup, I know that she didn’t always treat me well but I was willing to stick with her for a good long time because I didn’t think I deserved any better. I miss her because I spent every minute with her and then she dropped me like a bad habit for another comedian because she knew it would fuck up the one hobby I had that didn’t involve her. Even though the relationship ended in an ugly fashion and the way she went about it was shitty I am still sad and I still miss her . Maybe I don’t miss her and it is more a reflection of my desire to have anyone in my life and my fear of dying alone .

325. Birthday Song: This Time Has Gone
I like that the narrator has to look at their driver’s license to know how old they are.
And there was a time when you wanted me so bad It was eating you up inside But this time has gone away

Kris Kristofferson - The Pilgrim (Chapter 33)
He’s a poet, he’s a picker– He’s a prophet, he’s a pusher– He’s a pilgrim and a preacher, and a problem when he’s stoned– He’s a walkin’ contradiction, partly truth and partly fiction, Takin’ ev'ry wrong direction on his lonely way back home.

me when I realize all the dumb shite I’ve said on the internet is public and other human beings can actually see it and I’ve externalized my inner monologue and have basically therefore opened up ze body and thrown my innards at random people but it’s alryt because all human beings are inherently inclined towards the act of public spectacle which we do in order to validate our own existences and to connect with others and the only way we feel real is to make connections with the world no matter how superficial, embarrassing or flimsy the attempts are and there’s no way to prevent it so mite as well chill lmao

344. They Are Stone Swallowers
Despite being a bonus track off Get Lonely, this song has a similar feel to me as We Shall All Be Healed and some of the AHWTX outtakes. Also feels a little like some of Black Pear Tree
“You went away to Stockholm” and “You were headed down to Salzburg” remind me of “When I came back from Finland” in Million; someone goes somewhere, they come back, dark things are hinted at, but you don’t know why they left or what happened there.
Stone swallowing is, apparently, a real thing that sideshow performers did, and perhaps here is a metaphor for consuming things that aren’t good for you. IDK. “Scratch marks on your cheeks” also reminds me of “claw marks on our little faces” from High Doses #2.
