Happy birthday to Marshal Nicolas-Charles Oudinot! He was born April 25th, 1767. He was one of the most injured marshals, having sustained at least 34 wounds during his entire military career. He was the son of a brewer, he ran away from home when he was 17 and enlisted in infantry. He was eventually brought back home three years later but that didn’t stop him from going back to the military. Towards the end of his life he became a devout Catholic and established a school for orphans. He died in 1847 at the age of 80. Anyways happy birthday to one of napoleons less known marshals.

AHH HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MARSHAL SAINT-CYR, APRIL 13TH!! I was so busy today I didn't have to time to make a full detailed post...anyways i love that he was petty as shit and that he was originally a painter. He was also a long time friend of marshal ney and even tried to keep him from being executed :(

Happy birthday to one of my fav marshals Jean Lannes! (Born April 10th; Lectoure, France).

Described as most daring but talented generals, he was born in a small town and was apprenticed as a dyer during his teen years. Though he received little to no education his proficiency in various sports helped him climb military rankings.

Lannes does not like emigres and he makes it VERY CLEAR, also lannes had anger issues often challenging others to duels or just straight up insulting others but who wouldn’t during a time like that. He did learn to control his anger/temper though! He had a distaste for war which seems to show/grow each battle he once said, “I fear war and I have told the Emperor. The first sounds of a battle make me shiver, but once I have taken the first step forward, I think of nothing but the task at hand.”

Jean Lannes died May 31st, 1809 at the age of 40 in Austria during the battle of Aspern-essling from his wounds. Napoleon said, "I have lost the most distinguished general in my army, my companion in arms for sixteen years, and my best friend."

During St. Helena, Napoleon wondered how things would’ve played out if Lannes lived longer, and he wrote about Lannes, "I cannot imagine that he would deviate from the path of duty and honor... If he had remained untouched, he was certainly a man capable of changing the whole course of events by his own presence and influence."

Lannes is a very fun marshal to learn about, there is so much more that can be discussed and shared but for now talking about the basics will be enough. ANYWAYS happy birthday Jean Lannes!

Happy 214th birthday to our dear françois aka napoleon II duke of Reichstadt!

I finally learned of my mistakes and drew the birthday art before the actual birthday lmao

Anyhow I'm glad I got too draw françois again I was itching to draw him and his birthday was coming up so it was like the stars aligned for me to draw him for his birthday

Also when searching for references for his clothes I came across this fandom wiki Link that took me to a alternative history wiki where napoleon II actually did get to rule France and I went into little rabbit of hole of these different alternative history wiki of francois with what ifs some are even talked about in more detail like this one

Idk I thought it would be fun to mention this little excursion i went through while searching photos of him I yet have to read more about him( I don't think he has a mémoire right?)

I just suddenly remembered that Beethoven was supposed to write his no 3 symphony for Napoleon, but bro became emperor so Beethoven ripped the manuscript to shreds, crossed out Napoleon’s name and other angry Beethoven stuff.
