Ugh

I definitely should have made a post earlier, explaining my absense, but long story short, my laptop was accidentally thrown away.

It was having hinge issues so I took it in to a "computer repair" place back September 27th to get it fixed. Two months later, I'm on the phone trying to figure out what's going on with the status of my repair, and I'm told that my laptop is "unrepairable." Fine, whatever. I tell the worker on the phone that I'll pick up my laptop that week. I'm told I have 90 days to grab it before it's marked abandoned. Again, fine, I'll be there within 3 days. Everything should be okay, right? After all, I told this business at least 3-4 times prior that, no matter what happened with my laptop, I wanted it back. 

Well, somebody placed my laptop with the abandoned devices. There was (supposedly) an audit the day after I called to say I'd pick up my laptop, and lo and behold, it was tossed.

I'm still super upset about this. That laptop meant a lot to me. It was one of my prized possessions, there was A TON of sentimentality to it, and the stickers on it--some gifted to me, or made by my friends--were priceless and are gone forever. I had that laptop almost 11 years and I had always told myself that, when the day came I needed to replace it, I'd keep it. 

Everyone at the repair place was apologetic, and I understand mistakes happen, but overall the experience at this place was not a good one and I've learned my lesson for next time.
