You. Yeah you. Doomscrolling. You aren't usually this anxious. You don't know how to deal with it. You don't have meds because this is *not* your usual level of anxiety.

Now, technically this advise comes from a PTSD study, but I've found it works well. The trick is that the game must require constant attention (or you die fast) and a lot of eye movement. Bullethell games are also ideal.
Why does this work? Well, you can't think about the world ending if you're too busy trying not to die in a video game. There's no space left for worry so it recedes to the background, if only temporarily. But even those 5 minutes of relief are better than continuing to spiral.
Take a break. Play Tetris. For your mental health.
