Jay reached over, tucking the flower behind her ear and grinning triumphantly, enjoying the way she smiled. “It really suits you if you ask me, then again flowers just remind me of you in general.”

Jane inwardly sighed at the assistance, a mixture of relief of no longer having to struggle and embarrassment towards her exaggerated sense of independence. She couldn’t bring herself to complain over something so small, though. She looked up to Jay, focusing on his shades again and chuckled softly, “Is it because of the gardening?”

Jay fidgeted, clearly nervous as he offered out a flower, smiling a little. “Here you go, Janey.”

Jane glanced from Jay’s shades down to the flower, then back up with an almost incredulous expression. She returned the smile, shyly. Such a friendly and touching gesture, coming from him. Accepting the flower, she uttered a ‘thank you’ and attempted to put it in her hair, but struggled due to the shortness of it. “Hmm...” she hummed, frustrated.
