Nick wouldn’t lie it had been tough, tough to lie to your girlfriend about seeing creatures she couldn’t, about how in danger she was really in by living with a Grimm, lie about how Adalind was evil and hellbent on destroying Nick and all of his happiness. It was worse however to not be the one to save his girlfriend, not being able to comfort her as she tried to regain her memories because infact Nick was the only person she didn’t remember. Not wanting to confuse or upset her anymore he had been reduced to sleeping on the couch, but lately he was miserable and frustrated and really needed his friends.
He sat in the jeep more longer than intended just staring into space. The headlights were off, the key was out of the engine but his hands were placed firmly on the steering wheel. His mind delved into possible conversation starters, cases opened and closed, threats from vengeful wesen and then back to Juliet. He slammed his hand onto the horn in a blinded rage before snapping back into reality and remembering who’s house he was outside.
A bottle of pinot noir in one hand he smiled while Monroe opened the door, he stepped in and handed it towards him. “Sounds different. New recipe?” he asked taking off his jacket. “I don’t know if that’s any good actually” he pointed to the bottle frowning “-- I was just passing the liquor store though you and Rosalee might have a glass or two this weekend. Maybe I should have gotten scotch.”
Rabbit hole of Memories
@grimmcop
While Juliette was out of the coma, she wasn’t exactly Juliette anymore. Well, not completely, to Nick. For some cooky reason she remembered everyone, including good ol’ new friend-weird meeting Monroe. He didn’t know how that made one lick of sense, but he figured it had a lot more to do with that cat scratch than the doctors were letting on. Rosalee wasn’t sure how to fix it what with the cat being gone, and he sure as hell didn’t know where to start either. It was the first time in months that the trio had reached an impasse.
The princess of evil had disappeared after Nick gave her the kiss of death to her Hexenbeist side, leaving her utterly human. Monroe was all about it, that girl was bad news. He wasn’t a fan of the witchy behavior, it was more to handle than any wesen he ever encountered. Who knew if she was ever coming back, but he wished for Nick’s sake she would. The guy was a mess. It was probably why he had invited him into his home. It was September 21st and it was the time Monroe took to plan out his next Halloween design plans. That, and he had made a killer eggplant Parmesan that he wanted to test out on Nick. Maybe it was something he could impress Rosalie on their ‘non date,’ later.
As Monroe waited for Nick, he started tinkering with a grandfather clock that a client had brought in earlier. It was unbeknownst to him, that he was being watched, from the back yard. When the bell rung, and the normal tap on the door, he knew Nick had arrived. He went to the door to greet him. “Hey man, right on time. Dinner’s almost ready. Hope you like eggplant.” he grinned, holding the door open.

Though his head was wasn’t in the best state and he was feeling a little nauseous from the fall Nick didn’t seem to determine any of Wesen-like or woging from the stranger. It wasn’t like he doubted the man’s kindness, no one was gonna mug off a police detective but still he proceeded with caution just incase.
“Thankyou Herc.” he nodded with gratitude, though he could have called Hank or Wu or even Juliet if he didn’t want to worry her somehow he felt mildly okay with the help from this man. “I’ve been treated at Treeview in the past, they’ve got my records.” he explained as he began to walk trying to keep the black spots dancing across his vision at bay.
Seated in the passenger seat Nick sealed himself into the chair with the safety belt just in time as his vision began to blur. He rolled down the window slightly hoping the air would keep him awake on the journey. In the midst of it all had he seen a hundjager in the distance? Or was his mind now playing tricks on him?

Nick rubbed at his throbbing temple, man he sure was hit hard. He should have seen it coming, should have waited for some kind of back up instead of perusing the perp alone. Should have waited and watched and not actively engaged because now he had what felt like a concussion– or a terribly bad hangover. More likely to be a concussion on a Wednesday evening than the latter.
He sighed, more disappointed with his own actions than anything else. “I can’t believe I let him get away.” suddenly remembering his belongings he patted at his pockets, relieved to find he still had his badge and gun. He looked up at the stranger, debating whether he should or not, but wouldn’t Juliette kick his ass if he didn’t get looked at. “Uh yeah – I don’t think I can drive like this, thankyou.” he held out his hand. “Detective Nick Burkhardt. Nice to meet you.”
For a moment, Herc nearly responded with his former title in front of his name, but caught himself in time. He’d held on to the Marshal position for about a year after Pitfall, helping Mako to transition to her post of Secretary-General, but that had been some time ago. His face hadn’t appeared in media in recent years.
“Herc Hansen.” He gave Nick’s hand a friendly pump. “Nice to meet you, mate. Although the circumstances can be better.” He shifted a little to indicate an old school Chevy Impala. “Let’s get in and get your head checked out. Any doctor in particular you have a preference for?”
He made sure to keep an eye out on his surroundings as Nick got in, hiding a bit of a scoff at himself. Getting into a car was nearly like getting into a conn-pod, he found. While all Jaeger pilots had Tendo as LOCCENT Chief, and helicopter spotters to apprise them of Kaiju locations, they still had to keep a sharp eye out at all time. It was almost like he’d never stopped piloting Striker at all.
Old habits die hard, he guessed.

Snow stared at her hands folded demurely in her lap and she noticed the beginnings of bruises appearing on her arms, too. Tugging her shirt sleeves down to cover them, she crossed her own arms in front of herself. It went against every fiber of her being to lie to anyone, and she was terrible at it, but what she didn’t really see any other choice. No one had ever believed her before, so the abuse kept happening. Eyes wide, she looked up at him and then shook her head slowly. Her injuries were extensive, but nobody could consider what happened to be an actual fight, unless it was a one-sided one.
Nick’s gaze was heavy, focused and concerned. Sometimes it wasn’t what victims said is was what they didn’t that held the most truth and power. He sympathised with Snow, he’d seen many cases alike over the years but that didn’t mean it got any easier to deal with them. Nick was angry, whatever about violence he dealt with that on a daily basis, but to an innocent person, basically a child, now that was what made him furious. “You don’t have to tell me what happened.. but you will have to tell someone. A nurse or Councillor as this case goes forward.” his voice was gentle. “I promise you I won’t let them walk away from this.”

@universeofmuses x ADALIND
It was a rare occasion Nick getting the evening off, after all homicide and general crime doesn’t take a day off and ‘special’ cases in Portland were rampant these days even with two Grimm’s in the city. However much of a dick Sean could be he was almost not completely against letting Nick go home early on a Friday to spend extra time with the kids. Showered, changed and holding Kelly in his arms he waited in the kitchen gently bopping him up and down to keep him from fussing. He glanced at the clock and called out to Adalind and Diana.
“Are the ladies almost done? Cause the men over here are starting to get pretty hungry.” he looked down at Kelly cooing happily. “--Yep, Kelly just threatened to cry if I don’t get some hot wings and a cold beer soon.”

Hearing him and beginning to wake just before she felt his kisses, Snow smiled, her eyes still closed. She leaned into his delightful touches nearly imperceptibly, hoping he would continue. Opening her eyes and stretching with a slight yawn when he stopped, she looked over at him, her gaze hooded. His question caused her to quirk a brow at him. “I suppose that depends on what you have in mind.” Turning onto her side and moving closer to him, she offered softly, “I would be happy to make breakfast for you.” Nick looked adorable first thing in the morning, and she couldn’t help closing the distance between them to greet him with a kiss before murmuring, “You hungry?”
“Well that..” he began still smiling playfully, as he planted a few more soft kisses along her body “..--would be ruining any kind of surprise.” Though he was just awake he was giddy at the sight of how naturally and effortlessly beautiful Snow looked curled up in his bed. To Nick it was definitely a good morning. He held out his hand to intertwine his fingers with Snow’s. “Or if you wanted to stay comfy I could run to the deli and bring something back here?” he offered, it wasn’t a great deli but it done good coffee and omelette's. He nodded laughing a little. “Oh god -- always. My stomach’s like a black hole.”

Nick began to fasten the buttons on his shirt as he looked into the mirror that hung above the dresser in the bedroom. In the background he saw the unmade bed which he and Juliet had slept in the night before and smile fondly to himself. No matter what he had been through this past year he still had Juliet, and Nick wouldn’t be letting go of what they had anytime soon.
As he approached the kitchen he reached for the mug he heard Juliet speak, after filling it up he turned around and rested his body weight on the counter before taking a sip. “Yeah sure, anything” he smiled before walking over to the table. “What’s going on?”
A Grimm Party
For Juliet she was always a bit of a social butterfly, so things like parties and stuff were fun for her. This was especially true for halloween costume parties, she always had fun getting a costume together and see everyone else’s costume. They had missed the last party last year because it was so close to Nick’s aunt dying but this year they didnt have much of anything going on.
It was a few days before the party and they needed to go get their costumes if they were going to go. Juliet got up early and went down to make breakfast and coffee for herself and for Nick when he wondered down before going to work, “Hey Nick can I talk to you about something?” She asked him once she got a plate together for him and heard him coming into the kitchen and get himself a cup of coffee.

@universeofmuses x TRUBEL
It had been a long day at the precinct a couple of coyotl’s started a gang targeting eisbiber’s, willahara’s and mauzhertz’s in the Portland area using violence and threats to take money, land and whatever they could from them. Bud got word of it too late for Nick to prevent the damage, but after working tirelessly with Hank they managed to lay down the Grimm law before it got worse. He hadn’t been home long, some take out on a plate in the dining room and a cold beer just opened when he heard the twist of the doorknob.
Turning, he pointed his gun towards the door and stared down the figure that entered. His expression softened once he saw her, letting the gun down instantly he began to walk towards her arms open wide. “You know you could knock and I’d be just as happy to see you right?”

@gentlegrace || Send ✘ for a ‘the morning after’ starter with our muses!
Nick hummed lazily as he stretched his limbs in the bed, a hazy ‘just awake’ look in his eyes and a content smile on his face. He turned to his left side, gaze shifting to Snow looking like a painting next to him, complete perfection. He leaned forward and placed some gentle kisses across her shoulder and neck. He drew back, one arm resting underneath his pillow. “Good morning.” his voice was husky and quiet though there was a playful gleam in his eyes “Do you want coffee or something else to wake you up.”

He craned his neck to look at the disintegrating bodies behind him and sighed. He placed his gun back in its holster and folded his arms across his chest, clearly not happy with the situation. “Alright -- fine, I wont arrest you but this has been messy.” he explained. “I have to be a cop about this-- people could have been hurt.”
Continued from here:
@grimmcop
As far as Cara was concerned, it wasn’t that bad. The only casualties were the two vetalas, and she only had a few bumps and bruises to show for taking them out. In fact, this would be one for the win column if it weren’t for the cop standing in front of her. “Look at the bodies - they’re decomposing. Within a matter of minutes, they’ll be nothing more than piles of ash. So what good will arresting me do? What kind of report could you possible write that wouldn’t get you laughed out of your department?”
