Pretty sure spiderman cries at least once in every single movie, in every iteration. Like, i think the only time i don't see him cry is in the 2nd spiderverse movie, but he sure as hell is in crisis. Leave my boy alone 😭
this is nothing new i'm sure, but i just watched another spiderman movie so it's on my mind. and now that i think about it, in all the spiderman movies i've seen--which is all of them, because i have seen all the spidermans--spidey is just. fighting for his life. not just fighting villains, but every aspect of his day is a STRUGGLE. he is late for class, he is trying to keep his part-time job, he is scrambling to pay his rent or look cool in front of his crush or fix some mistake he made. he is such a mess, and sometimes it gets better, but never for very long. and MAN do i feel for him. let that boy REST.

I'm trying to make enough art to sell at a craft fair at the end of august, but i've never really done this before? the little art fair i did in june was basically just me selling prints next to a farmer's market, and it only went on for 3 hours. So this is still very new to me, and I have no idea how to sell my work. This festival is 6 hours long, outdoors at a park in a town I'm unfamiliar with. The organizers expect about a 1000 people to come, weather-permitting. How do I price my work high enough to make a profit without deterring customers? How much should I spend on supplies and inventory, if I don't know how much I'll make? I don't know. It's nerve-wracking (wrecking?) but I'm also so excited, because that little festival in june was a lot of fun for me.

Ignore the different compositions, I've decided I'm doing a close up of an iris as the subject matter. These kinda look cute all together like this, I can make em into stickers...

I've made a mistake. These little dashes take 1 million years to draw.

I have these two paintings of irises going into a gallery show (yay!!), but in the meantime, I want to paint a third piece to unify them further. But the main colors I've chosen for the backgrounds have thrown me off. They go from pale magenta-pink into ultramarine blue, and bright yellow-green into green-shade phthalocyanine blue. I think I need one with a bright cyan blue background, but—what color can I make the subject matter, if not some type of blue to match the other paintings?
Should it be a monochromatic blue painting? Do I go from cyan into deep purple? And I can't go to the opposite end of the spectrum and do an orange background, because going from orange into blue would get muddy, and it's too much contrast.
#grilledsquids#art talk#my artwork#maybe i'll do some thumbnails#would any of you vote on thumbnail color schemes for me?
