Okay garden sleuths. I could have swore this flower was a calendula. It is in the bed opposite of my calendula. But is so different. It isn't as tall. Multiple petals and brown middle. Much larger flower too. Leaves are similar but larger. What is it. I have a perennial sunflower growing a couple beds over and it is really different. Clues?

Spotted her on my raspberry leaf. She is one of the biggest bumblebees I have seen. It is really wet outside so she was just hanging and graciously allowed a picture. I love these furry yellow bees. @buttonwoodfarmliving your bees were on the raspberries too.

Alfalfa is in bloom. It has tiny purple flowers that you barely see. Most people don't know how that alfalfa is a member of the pea family and very nutrious for you. It has vitamin K. It is great in salads. When dried it doesn't have much taste. So I combine other aromatic herbs with it to make 2 of my teas taste good with all the benefits alfalfa has to offer. (Every Day Mojo and Swift Kick in the Ginger.) Ps alfalfa is pain to grow because you can't reseed it. It hates its seeds. So when it goes to seed you will get new plants away from the original alfalfa. Do you eat alfafa?

Sometimes you have to improvise. I was weeding and found some nice dandelion leaves. I didn't have a bowl so I hung them on my fence for safe keeping. What is one of your favorite garden hacks?

I adore pineapple mint with its white edges. It makes a beautiful.plant in your beds if you don't mind how invasive it can get. It smells like a weaker spearmint. I don't know why they call it pineapple mint. It doesn't smell like pineapple to me. Do you grow this mint. PS. It is one of the mints in Anna Lee Herbs Five Shades of Mint. Link in bio if you adore mint tea.

Making a rose geranium hydrosol this morning! One down. 2 more to go. It takes about one to two hours to make hydrosols. I only have a 10 L distillery so I can't make a lot at one time. Rose geranium is a scented geranium with a delicious rose smell. Since I make rise hydrosol i find this one is stronger and less powdery smelling. Great overall toner for face and body. And the smell is heavenly. It really lifts your spirit. Link in bio to purchase.

Friday I spent all day cutting lavender @madlavenderfarm to make lavender hydrosol. I don't have enough plants to cut 4 pounds of buds. Although it was blazing hot the lavender was enchanting. Watch on website When the lavender hydrosol will be ready. I like them to sit for awhile to meddle before selling. I treat them like wine... (at Mad Lavender Farm)

First time growing strawflowers. I love growing flowers. Straw flowers come in all different colors. Pink. Yellow. Red. They are about 2.5 feet tall! The petals feel like straw! I am going to try and preserve them. Maybe do a flower essence with them. Maybe sell them on my shop. Who knows. Ever grown strawflowers? What is your favorite flower to grow?
