Seen here during production, Francis Ford Coppola expressed interest in making Apocalypse Now (1979) as early as 1974. George Lucas had previously intended to direct but was unavailable due to the production of a little film called Star Wars (which, according to editor and sound designer Walter Murch, incorporated some of the political themes from this script).
