We doubt the critics, reject the status quo and see opportunity in dissatisfaction. Our campus, faculty and students are driven by optimism. It is not naïve; it is essential. And it has fueled every accomplishment, allowing us to redefine what's possible, time after time. This can-do perspective has brought us 14 Nobel Prizes, 13 faculty MacArthur Fellows, 116 NCAA titles and more Olympic medals than most nations. Our faculty and alumni helped create the Internet and pioneered reverse osmosis. And more than 140 companies have been created based on technology developed at UCLA. What inspires MacArthur Fellows and Rhodes Scholars? What gave Jackie Robinson the courage to become the first African American in Major League Baseball? What was the catalyst that spurred Vint Cerf and Leonard Kleinrock's dream of the Internet? The answer is optimism. And it is in our DNA. It is what enables us to push forward and redefine what's possible. It pervades our focus on education, research and service and, in turn, opens limitless opportunities to every student. And through its eye-opening lens, we see beyond the classroom, allowing us to engage with the world right now. As UCLA moves onward, we leverage our history to define our future. Every achievement and breakthrough we have made justifies our optimism, calling us to build upon our past. And as we near the end of a century of excellence, we steadfastly pursue future endeavors with the same optimism that brought us here.

Greek Row, we’d like to introduce you to Logan Marlowe. This nineteen year old is a originally from Bend, Oregon and is currently a pledge in Kappa Kappa Gamma. She is a psychology major with a minor in social thought. Fortunately for us, this role is taken.
ABOUT HER:
✘ Logan grew up in a small town where she was a part of a tight-knit, Christian community that immersed themselves in the beautiful nature that surrounded them. She’s also the baby in her family, having two older brothers who were overprotective of her. It didn’t help that her parents sheltered her as well. She was viewed as someone who wasn’t capable to fend for herself, and she grew to believe that.
✘ No longer having her family to depend on, Logan joined a sorority out of comfort. She wanted another form of family where she could go to when she was struggling and she found comfort in Greek Row. Unfortunately, some of the girls did not share the same values as her, so it came as a culture shock when she was introduced to the partying and reckless lifestyle some of them live. Joining the sorority has caused Logan to rethink her entire life and put her in an existential crisis.
WHEN SHE’S NOT STUDYING:
✘ Logan can be found working at the campus radio station, UCLA Radio as a host.
✘ She is also a part of the UCLA dance team.
PERSONALITY TRAITS:
{+} Empathetic, Out-Spoken, Accountable {-} Naive, Lost, Insecure
SOCIAL MEDIA:
@softxthorns: Will I ever stop procrastinate? Probably not.
@softxthorns: It should actually be illegal to have classes at 7:30AM. Send coffee, and lots of it. Please.
HER SECRET:
Logan didn’t come from a wealthy family. Her parents were able to provide for her and her brothers, but she got into college through many, many scholarships. She also works many jobs in order to qualify for work study money. One of her jobs is being a TA for a few of the classes on campus, but this allows her to have access to almost all the tests. In order to make money, Logan has people pay her to create cheat sheets for them.
