Donmar Comet had its first previews and oh my it looks very snazzy indeed. Spoilers gleamed from first reactions under the cut

Easily the most modern set design I've seen for the show

Everyone's in contemporary alt garb, mostly black with hints of muted colour

The giant light up "M SCOW" sign in the back

What I assume is the comet is like, a big ol halo above the stage

In the corner there are these "Bride" and "Groom" masked characters. Unclear if these are actors or just dolls but they are weird in the best way

Apparently the bears from the rehearsal photos make sense in context

I have also heard that there is at least one (1) new Danatole kiss.

I really wonder if this increased anachronisms will be reflected in the arrangements but I'm still to hear anything besides that prologue clip

This production looks like it fucks severely I'm afraid

I found out just now tgc Korea exists, so I set out to google about it and your blog popped up so thanks for compiling stuff here ^_^

The Great Comet of 1812 그레이트 코멧 → 2020 Korea Production [ 1 / 3 ]

“Dear, bewildered, and awkward Pierre… rich, unhappily married Pierre.” The illegitimate son of a Russian aristocratic family. Socially awkward with a melancholy streak, he is an outsider in society despite his wealth. Pierre Bezukhov will be played by;

✧ 홍광호 Hong Kwang Ho ✧ 케이윌 K. Will (김형수 Kim Hyung Soo)

“Natasha is young.” A nineteen-year-old ingenue who is innocent, doe-eyed, and profoundly, lethally romantic. She is betrothed to Andrey and loves him dearly. She goes to Moscow under the care of her godmother with her cousin and finds there is more than just theatre to see. Natasha Rostova will be played by;

Whilst it’s original scheduled run from 2020 September to November was unable to proceed due to COVID, the production has been announced that is rescheduled run will be playing at the 유���버설아트센터 Universal Arts Center from 2021 March 20 to May 30.
