     " Dusty did it! " Ah, like a child pointing a chubby finger at a sibling, did the gravity shifter- startled as she was, proceed to throw her furry friend under the bus. Hands having immediately flown into the air, resting aside either side of her head, as if the action miraculously reassured her so-called “innocence”... As if she were not the cause of the d i s t u r b a n c e abuzz behind her; the mechanical whirling & screaming of a computer pushed far past its limits, that her slight frame was failing to properly hide...

     &, upon the realization that there was indeed no chance that Vergil had not already seen it, one of said hands instead shifted to rest behind that of her head, rubbing at the back of tense neck as a sheepish smile overtook the blonde. The laugh that followed suit forced, & awkward. " Ahahaha... Woops. " Whereas it was curiosity that had led her to examine the electronic device, to attempt to discover more about this mysterious world she had found herself in, it was impatience that had- ah, well. She may have smacked the keyboard... & the monitor, after the first time an e r r o r flashed upon the screen... & typed who knew what back in her attempt to return the display to normal, fingers having slammed upon key after key in hopes that one would do the trick. ( Not to mention that, before noticing the glare boring into her back, had she possibly been about to kick the tower. Possibly. A fact she'd vehemently deny with all she had. )

as much as i love the trope of a character falling fast and hard for someone, i also love the subtle descent where they don’t really think about it; where that person is just kind of there until one day they realize that person is so ingrained in their lives and they cannot do without them. where there is no conscious effort on either ends to become romantically involved but somehow the thought of them being with someone else is disconcerting. where “i enjoy being with you” unwittingly turns into “i want to be with you”

     “ Mmm! Ywahh! ”

     An attempt was made; ah, but it was a poor one. The words uttered unintelligible & poor, as it oft was when one attempted to talk with their mouth full. ( Though could she be blamed? For who would want to rush through such mouthwatering, chocolate filled, caramel oozing, creamy goodness? )

     Turning ‘round to face her friend, away from the counter-top set up with treat after treat, a proper answer was far from needed. What with the evidence that she had, indeed, tried the cakes written all over her? From the silver plate within one hand & the fork in the other, stacked with not one but three pieces of the divine dessert, held decidedly close to her awaiting maw. Cheeks puffed out, stuffed with as much as she could fit. & not to forget the dark little crumbs scattered upon pale lips.

     Kat couldn’t swallow fast enough. Almost choking in the process, a fist having to pound against her chest in an effort to clear her suddenly aching airways. Before long though, the shifter was all smiles once more. Positively beaming with delight. “ They really are! Oooh, it’s like my mouth went to heaven! ”
