Since its appearance in 1990, the Mercedes 190 EVO II has polarized the market. Many love it and appreciate it as a true classic, others find it simply gruesome with its huge rear spoiler! 🏁

As a homologation model for the DTM, the 190 EVO II was only built 500 times and is now a much sought-after speculation object.

Many touring car fans still like to think back to the good old days, to Kurt Thiims and his accent, to Klaus Ludwig or the only woman who has won the DTM so far: Ellen Lohr. The EVO’s performance is spectacular in any case!

The performance figures were also impressive by then standards: the 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine produced 235 hp, with a maximum of 245 Nm at 5,000 rpm. 17-inch wheels were an eye-catcher 25 years ago!

Today, however, they look surprisingly tiny in the massive wheel arches. Anyone who has driven 190s once will still find their way around quickly today. Sports seats and additional instruments remind us of the power of the car.

A glance at the gear knob also reveals which of the 500 units you are sitting in and reminds you that the first gear here - very sporty - is down on the left.
