my laptop is fired; good ol club soda all over it. So updating any of my writing is going to take a back seat for who knows how long. Good news is that I can still work on my stories with my phone, i just can’t post them. Bad news, the stories was working on the day this happen will take even longer to update.

Robert vs Ned by Pojypojy

AsoIaf falshback time: this is during Robert’s Rebellion, Ned argues with Robert about his alliance with the Lannisters, after Tywin brings them the corpses of Elia, Rhaenys and Aegon. This scene fascinated me because a) angry Ned is a rare thing to see and b) it really could have meant the end of their friendship, as far as we know. And yes, I’ve always thought Ned was visibly shorter than Robert, who is like uber tall while Ned is just average, I think.

A lil Mericcup gifset because I haven’t made gif manips in forever! I suppose what’s going on here is that Merida hasn’t seen Hiccup since she was younger and he was a noodle-armed little teen, but now he’s back for her! Or maybe Hiccup is a suitor of Merida’s, here to unite the Scotts and Vikings as allies? Either way, let the romance begin!

A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones AU-Ned marries Cersei

He was waiting in the courtyard when his soon-to-be wife arrived.  He kissed her hand and while her lips smiled, her green eyes did not.

She was a dutiful wife, but there were times Ned swore winter winds were warmer.  There were other moments though, when he’d see flashes of sadness behind the façade.  He felt more helpless and lost than he ever had in battle.

When the birth of their twins drew near, he tried to be especially attentive.  Even if Cersei would never admit to it, he knew the manner of her own mother’s death had been on her mind.  As she screamed in pain, he held her hand.  A boy came first and then a girl.  It was an exhausted confession that slipped from Cersei’s lips when she told him she was relieved their daughter wouldn’t have to live with what she herself had her entire life.  As Ned pressed his lips to her forehead, he felt the ice wall that had been between them start to melt.

As the twins grew, he sought out her guidance more and more.  At first, she seemed bewildered and suspicious, but then pleased. It wasn’t long before she was bringing information to him and becoming one of his most trusted advisors.

The night their third child was conceived, she had asked him to come to her bed.  They were both thoroughly exhausted come morning.

She made laughter come easier to him, always knowing just what to say and when.

When Ned got the orders to ride out to fight the Greyjoy Rebellion, he went to her with a heavy heart.  Cersei kept herself composed for all their sakes, saying her family back in the Westerlands needed him and if he made quick work of it, he’d be home in time for the birth of their fourth child.  The kiss she gave him was long and deep.  He knew though, only when she was alone, would she let herself break down.

He rode hardest the last couple of days, anxious to get back to Winterfell.  When he saw Cersei and the smile that filled her green eyes, Ned knew he was truly home.
