94/100 days of productivity | 13.05.19
My hectic term being finally over, I’ve spent the last week cleaning around my apartment and getting some shopping done, but now I’m finally getting back to business doing some reading for my thesis at my favourite tea lounge. Lofi beats, plants and good tea, what more to ask?

Today I had a breakdown.
I tweeted a series of tweets that went like this “I'm ready to drop out. Or at least transfer. I feel like I'm not learning anything in my classes and I'm not passionate about my major anyway. I feel like I was rushed into college and now I'm being rushed out. I freaking stressed and behind on classes because of trash advisory. At a school that feels like it doesn't care about it's students in any aspect from classes to extra currics.  But now I'm a junior so if I leave I've wasted three years of my life and I'll have to basically start over from scratch.”
Also a tweet left untweeted... “J’ai envie de me tuer à nouveau je pense vraiment que j’ai besoin de conseils.” Translate it if you want.
I’m in a really weird place right now and I have no idea what to do or who to talk to about it. I feel like I’m going to fail all my classes even though my grades don’t even look that bad right now.
I need help.

the pictures i took today were really crappy quality, so i’m using these photos from monday lol
anyway, today was alright. i’ve got to admit, i don’t love global business. it reads kind of like a history textbook and is really dry. i just want to get it overwith so i can get to my accounting classes. the content has been difficult to get through because it’s bland and wordy. i also decided to switch to typed notes for this class as well, as it’s not as relevant as i thought it was going to be, so hand-written notes aren’t worth the time.

January 14, 2019
My week 1 was characterized by:
trying new things (taking my first GE ever! lmao)
rekindling old friendships (from last year and even before college)
investing time in new friendships (joining a new org purely for the fun of it! my lovely future apartment mates and friends)
doing things I love but haven’t done in a while (teaching! watching the bachelor! crying while watching the sunset)
2019 has been so good to me so far and I can only hope that the rest of this year is half as fun :’)
So far week 2 has been characterized by… rain LOL but honestly this is going to be such a good quarter I can feel it in my bones

12.01.2019 | day 12 of 100 days of productivity
Ok I realize I’m posting this the next morning, I’ll make another post today too. So I was actually quite productive today. The only thing I didn’t do that I wanted too was a yoga flow (esp because I didn’t go to the gym), but i was honestly exhausted. I went to school, bought a textbook, read my textbook, studied, and went out to a cool steakhouse. I love how my spread turned out this week!

How to get rid of your Sunday evening anxiety
Tumblr media
If you’re like me you might be familiar with that strange sense of anxiety that you feel every sunday night : tomorrow a new week will start, you’ll have plenty of stuff to accomplish and you’re just here thinking about all of this and getting more and more anxious !
Even if I think  that we all experience that and that it’s completely normal, here are some few things you can do on sundays for you to face the new week ahead in the best way possible :
Do something productive : this could be finishing some assignments, cleaning your sheets or going for a walk !
Pamper yourself : I think sundays are the best days to do this ! Wash your hair, take a bath, put on a face mask or paint your nails, you’ll feel better after taking care of yourself :)
See some friends, go take a walk together or hang out in some coffee shop! Seeing people is a good way to distract yourself a bit from everything that’s making you anxious
Plan your week : fill your bullet journal, right down the important appointments/deadlines you have this week
Meal prep : I’m not really good at cooking, but when I do it, I know that it relaxes me a lot and I actually have fun when doing it! Try some new recipes, watch some cooking tutorials. I absolutely LOVE watching PickUpLimes videos because they are so simple and super healthy!
Meditate : really a big life changing habit for me, I just put on Headspace app and go for a 5 min meditation just before bed!
Read : On sundays I like reading a few chapters of the current book I’m on, like inspirational books about medicine or self-help! Fictional books are also a good option if you like them! It’s a good way to relieve your anxiety and gives you that little kick to get you through the week
Also, try going to bed at a reasonable hour : this one goes with n. 6 and 7 points. Getting a good night of sleep will actually make you feel more refreshed the day after and will help you start the week in the best way possible :)
Don’t be too hard on yourself : and I think it’s the most important. You binge watched 25 episodes in a row on Netflix? It’s ok, maybe it was the only way for you to unwind that day! If you feel bad after doing it just get up and do anything on the list above! It’s ok and IT HAPPENS ! Don’t blame yourself, it will only stress you more and that’s not what we want on a sunday ;)
So what did you do today? Do you have other tips? I would love to know more of you guys! Feel free to send me an ask telling me something about you :)
Hope your weekend was good though ! And sorry for my imperfect english grammar, I try to do my best!
good night X

Prof says he'll grade students on a curve, so they organize a boycott of the exams and all get As
Tumblr media
Johns Hopkins Computer Science prof Professor Peter Fröhlich grades his students on a curve: the highest score on the final gets an A and everyone else is graded accordingly.
Clever students in Fröhlich’s “Intermediate Programming”, “Computer System Fundamentals,” and “Introduction to Programming for Scientists and Engineers” figured out that this meant that if they all boycotted the exam, they’d all get As.
So they organized a boycott, milling around the hall outside the class where the exams were being sat, sternly reminding each other that if no one sat the exam they’d all get straight As, ignoring Fröhlich’s pleas to come and sit the exam.
Fröhlich praised his students’ solidarity: “The students learned that by coming together, they can achieve something that individually they could never have done. At a school that is known (perhaps unjustly) for competitiveness I didn’t expect that reaching such an agreement was possible.”
